Create a new character. This game has a tremendous amount of depth when it comes to different character builds

That, or do you have a save-game you can go back to?
I'm semi-obsessive re save-games..more than 200 now :o
But since I've not backed up my phone game data, all those 'saves' will be lost..like tears..in rain -- if my phone brix or wanders off.

I have just finished the current 0.7.7 game, and I might play it again with a different build for fun and exploration.

I think the best necklace changes over time. Early on, Irogotu's Necklace is big. Later, Jewel of Fallhaven for the extra swings. But, I have aimed for a build with more swings (quickstrike dagger, and then later, so as to have higher block, Balanced Steel Longsword).

I did not go for Marrowtaint as I am trying for a less dark build. I do have helmet of Dark Protector, but if I play it again, I might not take ANY of the decisions that hurt others, and see if I can still manage the final battles.

I am really wondering if another necklace (necklace of strike) combines well with a heavier build that perhaps has fewer hits but puts the enemies down fast anyway.

I've never played a tank build, but I can imagine Strike would be a good fit if the JoF/Mt wasn't enough to get you another swing of a heavy slow weapon anyway. But in a crit immune area, what's the next best, so you could swap out going in?

Yeah, to be fair I just went with Balanced Sharp Longsword for fight with Hira'zinn instead of my normal Blade of the Defiler/Quickstrike Dagger. I stayed away from the QSD for that fight to float my block chance high enough so as not to worry about the others in the room.

Not sure if there is a heavy weapon that does not really rely on Crits for its potency that you could use vs Demons.

It depends on the build. Early on, resistance is very important and +1 damage resistance can be easily a lifesaver, however when you get enough resistance and low level monsters can't bite you at all, while bad status effect become the primary concern, it becomes more important to get the enemies down as fast as possible, and thus Marrowtaint becomes the ultimate necklace.

I have used the dagger of shadow priests, however the game got a weapon stat upgrade and I'm not sure whenever it's still the best weapon or not. Maybe there is some weapon with less swings but higher total damage?

The objective of the weapon stat upgrade is that there is no longer a "best" weapon. Of course, not all weapons are equal (some are complete junk!), but there is no longer one weapon that stands above all others.

Hello, this is my first post. I am not new to the forums, as I have been lurking for many years, but just signed up recently. Back on topic, Hands down the jof/marrowtaint. Good subject 😜.

I've been using necklace of the undead the whole time before i got the marrowtaint and sometimes I've been switching to it if my hp is very low. It's the most useful item for me because you can just go around and kill things without worrying about hp, it's very effective for low hp mobs and when you don't need it you can just switch it out. Very useful for grinding i've saved up tons of potions and food.
