Can someone please confirm whether or not the following is a bug or intentional? It didn't even occur to me till I was posting in another thread that this might not be the intended behavior.

What does "almost never" mean?
I've experienced a diagonal plenty of times. Any "Evasion" skills?

Yes, Evasion (3). I'll be paying more attention to this for a while but I can't remember when I last got attacked while standing to the diagonal of a monster whereas if I approach from a side I quite often (comparatively) get attacked because we're both trying to move into the same tile.

Well that would explain the "will almost never attack you". Not sure if the diagonal encounter has anything to do with not being attacked much.

With Evasion (3) the monster has to actually move into the tile that you are currently in in order to get the first attack on you. My question is about whether or not a monster will ever move diagonally into a tile that you occupy. If not, is that a bug or is it intended?

...mobs in AT can't move diagonally.
[old post below]

Its not easy to decide how they should move. So I would like to ask you.
1) Perhaps only add diagonal movement
2) add some walk around obstacle code
3) combine straight and diagonal movement
4) your idea here

Bingo, thanks Nyktos. So it's not actually a bug per say although it is a feature that may be changed in the future.

fiernaq - don't mention it, that's why we're here!
Sarumar - exactly, the more "control" over the situation the better!
