Equipment Sets / Builds

I'm realizing how difficult it can be to change out various sets of equipment based on what kind of monsters I am going up against. For example, I have my quickstrike build that relies purely on high AC/AD items and either barehanded or with the QSD and then I have my set of crit based equipment for those monsters with very high HP. Because equipment is currently stored in the same bag with all your other loot, changing it out can sometimes be rather annoying.

My suggestion: implement Equipment Sets... basically a wardrobe that you can pre-configure with equipment and activate with a single button from within the inventory window.

Overview__Quests__Skills__Inventory
Worn Equipment
_[_][_][_]____Gold
[_]_____[_]__AC/AD
[_]_____[_]__CHS/CM
_[_][_][_]____BC/DR
Inventory
[Set 1]_[Set 2]_[Set 3]_[Set 4]
Bonemeal potion (484)
Meat (437)
Regula.....

That is how I imagine it would look. You could equip items to an equipment set and then just choose the set to activate it. Items could be applied to multiple sets and would still exist in your inventory. This would allow me to create a quickstrike set, a crit based set, a ninja set (-move cost), etc. To avoid problems with smaller phones, these buttons should probably be included under the Inventory section and when you scroll the inventory they should be a part of the scroll and slide off-screen. I also imagine that 4 buttons would probably fit but test this on a variety of phones; may be able to fit more or less equipment set buttons on the screen.

*Edit* for that matter, you could probably include the word "Inventory" as part of the scrolling and hide it as well to recover even more valuable screen space. If doing that then I would recommend placing the equipment set buttons above the word.

i like how you think!

i had a very similar suggestion,
and when i brought it up at the meeting...
almost everyone agreed that it would be a nice additon.

i only suggested one other gear set,
for criticals or non-critical gear.

i like your expansion though...

Anyway, it was put on the back burner...
this is the perfect chance to revive the idea!

great post!

:D

Sounds like a great idea to me, I'm just not sure I would ever utilize it as I like my builds (level-ups) to match my equipment at all times.
I.e. my critical attack build will always have the best available critical stats weapon. My defensive builds will always have the armor with the highest BC.

i wanted it for my critical build,
for when you come across mobs immune to critical hits.

***tap***

total gear set change, just one press...
heck yeah!!!

now, we just need to tweak the Quick Slot / Map interface...
and throw this new button into the mix!

Very true, but not sure I care so much as this game is so conducive to hack-n-slash (keep tapping until its dead), that I hardly ever pay attention to what is immune and what isn't.

i haven't really had time to put much focus on it,
but i told Oskar i would make a big deal about the Quick Slots issue on the forum...
so we can better judge the next step to take.

i will post a poll about it, or something to that effect...
so we can see how people play with them & what the fans want most.

I am all in for this idea! I have a build that is maxing out Bark Skin and I will later on probably level up crits, so I would love three buttons, one for offensive, one for defensive and one for critical equipment. If you create your character right, since we currently have no weapon class nor armor class training in AT, such switches are very welcome indeed.

That sounds good. I really liked the way that the old slots worked but do not want to lose the map feature. So I am at a loss but the new quick slots have found themselves not being used lately.

The older quick slots would show/hide at the push of the treasure chest button. Now the quick slot opens up and you have to select the quick slots and then they pop up. I don't like the slots to always be open because I don't want to accidently use a potion when I am chasing down an imp.

I really like the map and don't want it to go away (and while I don't like to complain about something unless I have a fix for it) I have no idea how to have the map available and keep the quick slots so that they can be toggled quickly.
