[Q] Goblin Village

Goblin Village:

So here are a few ideas:

You can choose to help out the village by doing quests, collecting items, etc and they will reward you by not killing you when you enter their village (and maybe a few items in the store after a point)

Buuuuut...

As soon as you double cross them (even once) the whole village becomes hosile and will attack you if you enter the village. If you stay there too long one of them will "Goblin Grenade" you killing you instantly (pesky lil buggers).

Goblin Grenade (item): Is an item you can use during combat for 5ap, at the end of your next turn it deals XX amount of damage to all NPC/Player in the squares ajacent to it. Getting your hands on one of these things would be difficult.

You've learned one thing the goblins have not... to throw the blasted things. hahahaha

Another Idea: The goblin village could be on the outskirts of Lord G's kingdom and they could be doing raids against villages nearby or plotting some type of uprising in hopes of taking over the area for themselves. Maybe Bonemeal potions were originally a goblin creation and Lord G's ban of them has put a bitter taste in the mouths of the Goblin villagers. Maybe...just maybe... they could eventually sell you stronger versions of the bonemeal potions that they created (maybe some might have bad effects, or bonus status effects)

Just brainstorming a few ideas: Opinions? Ideas? Suggestions? Etc?

Thank you Nyktos for brainstorming ideas!

Adding more species into the game would be highly interesting. I'd love to have something else fighting against Lord Geomyr alongside the Shadow Priests. +1. But not so sure about goblins, they're usually evil in folklore... maybe elves or sprites, or even gnomes? They have a reputation for tinkering with technology.

I would like to see some creatures that are human like. Maybe they are closer to magic than regular people. As Lord Geomyr hates magic, he also hates Goblins. A great way to make the player feel consequences of his actions.

What I really like in RPGs are the ethical choices, like the one in Loneford where your inherent loyalty to the Shadow clashes with the moral high ground of saving lives. And this idea, be it Goblins or Gnomes (or another of the amazing surrealistic AT-species names), is a very good way to role-play:

How long will you go on helping the Goblins, when it becomes plain they are using you to attack other people's settlements?
Do you go on, in the (greedy) hope of getting some items?
Do you stop, making them hostile and ruining all chances to trade with the Goblins later?

I like it, and I think it fits well into the theme!

Goblin Village Quest ideas:

Goblin King: Gives you quests against the near by villages

after proving your alliance to the goblin Village you would start getting quests from

Goblin Shaman: Gives you repeatable quests and will make you potions as a reward

I love goblins (and frogs :) ) litte bit barbarian and slow about thinking perhaps primitive culture with some shamans and fancy but dangerous ( to user and target) hightek like setting thing on fire and explosions...

Some quest ideas:
-leader of neardy (human) village pays gold in (dead) goblins ears
-you sleep in goblin village .. wake up in some strange noise... one young goblin sit on ground near of your bed and try to eat your shoes... you can kill him or listen the sad story about hunger and big ecil human who takes anything eatable away
-goblin armourer offers services to upgrade some items if you bring some rare item to him. Goblin can upgrade any poor guality items to better ones... addind something like bleeding wound or poison effect to weapons and DR or resistance abilitie to armour
-goblin potionmaker needs some ingredients to make some potions. There are problem anyhow you are not goblin so potions will cause some fancy side effeckt.
