Thanks everyone! I realized that I was too underleveled for the areas I was in, oh well, I will remember to level a bit more next time...

Anyway, I decided to start a new game with a pure DR build.

I have a build that is heavy on DR and it doesn't take damage often. For a heavy DR build i recommend getting the status effect resistance as well, even if they don't do damage to you (because damage has been reduced to 0) you still can be effected by a status effect.
Here is a list of some equipment you might want to search for:
Shielding Necklace has DR 2
Remgard Combat shield has DR 1
Wolfpack's Animal Hide has DR 1
Arulir Skin Gloves has DR 1
Boots of the Guardian has DR 1
Defender's Helmet has DR 1
Jinxed Ring of Damage Resistance has DR 1 (and you can wear 2 of them)
Possible DR from equipment: 9
(+ you can level Bark Skin to skill level 5)
For a potential total of 14
Happy hunting.

+1 This list is very useful, my friend. :D

I'm going to stock up on those items, because even though my build is critical, I can change to DR equipment in an area with crit immune baddies. ;)

It's fairly easy to get a good amount of DR from equipment (as long as you have access to all the stores)

I swap back and forth between a heavy DR set and a crit hit set on my main.

On my "tank build" i have 9 DR from equipment and lvl 2 bark skin. I might not hit hard (or often) but it's pretty rare for me to take alot of damage.

So, I talked about my DR build there.

I was going to use necklace of the protector that you get in loneford. It gives +5 HP as well. Now where do I get this shielding necklace?

Also, I don't really like going into the resistances skill tree because I feel as though it takes way too many points to get any results. Putting points into the dodge skill and relying on potions from prim is better IMO. For example, 3 each into each of the resistances plus regeneration takes ten points. 10points into dodge gives you 120 BC. What do you think?

Another problem with this build has been vaelarghs. They regen 10 life a hit and you don't do enough damage till like level 50 (assuming you are going bark skin heavy, which also means heavy spending on BC). If your level or eq is bad, then those 18 DR beetles will give you a stalemate as neither of you will be doing any damage...

But over all, it's a good build. Safe and easy but also kind of boring...

What do you guys think
