I just notice when editing my old post. I try to do this because posting seweral times in a row is not allowed.

So I edited my old post and add some new ideas witch i like others see. But will anyone notice the new information because there are no "new unread post" alarm in your frontpage, if post is just edited ?

Any suggestion ?

Stop combining the posts. I don't know any Forum where such posts are combined by mods.

yea, when you edit a post - it is not "new"

a couple things you can do

1. click quote on your last post to reply...
your prior post will be captured - then post normally.

when done, you will be bumped to your new post - please then delete the old post.

2. click post reply, as you normally would...
cut and paste your last post on to the top line of your new post,
inserting your old text on top of your current new post.

[ this works when you can't scroll down on a cell phone / your problem, right? ] :D

when done, you will be bumped to your new post - please then delete the old post.

thank you!

Thanks for the tips Nyktos, i currently use this copypaste method but as a regular member of forum i cannot delete my posts ;)

And yes, my main problem is the limited editing ability because im here with cellphone.

Happy hunting

There is no "official" rule against double posting but it is frowned upon.

The combining of multiple posts by the same user is done by most free large forums. Some simply do not allow you to post after yourself at all and you have to either PM someone to post after you so you can post again, or wait until someone posts naturally. While we are not large yet, starting early helps keep things in order.

In our case we actually allow you to post after yourself, because we know some users access the forums from a mobile, or sometimes people are in a hurry, or sometimes we simply forget, etc. Our great moderator team then combines the posts for you.

P.S.- On a semi-unrelated note I have enabled the "Quick Reply" option across all forums, hopefully that makes it easier for people that use their phones to post.

I was wondering where this "quick reply" thing suddenly appeared from.

Nyktos: Great ideas! +10!

Also when the double posts get combined it helps to make a search more accurate. It helps to keep the number of pages down so newer members don’t have to sift through a million pages just to find what they are looking for.

Also I think that the should be a quote option for quick reply.
At present only way to quote is copy and paste and add quote.

For example lets take xda. It is also based on vbulletin(same I guess as this).
There the double posts are automatically combined unless you are the creator of the thread.
Also they have same option for quick reply but there is an option to select quote. ( First press the QUICK REPLY button on the post. It will lead your cursor to the bottom where quick reply box is there. There is option to tick if we want to quoke that post automatically or not)
