Walk to the left. After the wild house there is a dungeon in the north. From there on it's not difficult to find

Regarding hardshell beetles...

i like bread early, six gold for five hp.

(someone else suggested this, lady black? i forget but GREAT suggestion!)

and the meat (obviosly) is nice during battle, when every AP counts.

(just some thoughts on early battles)

I forgot about all those belly aches I used to get from eating nothing but bread.

The hard-shell beetle has a damage resistance of 8 or 9 (I don't remember exactly), which means that 8 or 9 points will be subtracted from the damage you do with your attack. Therefore, you must be able to do at least 9 or 10 points of attack damage to hurt them. Whether this is from your own attack damage score or from a critical hit weapon does not matter, but attacking with less damage potential will only get you hurt or killed. Check the Info tab when you try to attack. If it says difficulty level is impossible, leave and come back when you are stronger.

-Hardshell Beetle
HP: 25
AP: 5
AC: 50%
AD: 0-5
BC: 40%
DR: 9
Drop: Gold (0-11), insect shell
XP: 87

They are tough as nails to a low level player.
