i was wondering apart from the lucky people who have a Rols or maybe 2 how many players actualy use any other of the items (ely, rol, chaosreaper, shadowfang, golf) in there equipment or are they just not worth useing cause theres better equipment from killing bosses or buying them? your thoughts please

i went with the Rapier of Lifesteal (RoL) as the basis for my build...
i also use the Gloves of Lifeforce (GoLF) - because i dont use criticals.
and of course two Rings of Lesser Shadow (RoLS)...
i matched all of my skills to support the bonuses given by said items.

the end result is below, in my sig.
[LOVE how it turned out]
in earlier levels i was able to thrive in areas my other builds struggled with...
that being said - its my favorite build yet!

I use the Elytharan Redeemer (ElyR), along with 2 RoLS.
I'm not using the Gloves of Life Force at the moment, but plan to switch to it after I've leveled up my AC to a certain point to make up the difference if I switch back from the Leather gloves of attack.

The thing I mainly like about the ElyR, besides the high AC & AD of course, is the +2 boost to Max AP. Before the Combat Speed skill entered the picture, it would allow for 3 swings if you had the Jewel of Fallhaven (to bring the attack cost down to 4 AP). So with Combat Speed, it gives you 14 AP to use, which might seem useless, but if you take a speed potion you get a 4th swing per turn. Or if you have Cleave level 1 and attack two at a time, you get a 4th swing after killing one. Cleave level 2 (which I will try to get eventually) would mean 2 more swings after the first kill. I also plan to get the Corpse Eater skill, so I don't have to switch to the ROL when I need to regain HP (got that idea from someone else).

Right now, I use the ROL if my HP drops below 100 to regain it. I use Shadow Fang just for fun killing weaker creatures, since it adds the challenge of being hit with Fatigue. And I use the Chaos Reaper just for fun too, trying to give monsters Chaotic Grip (but there's only a few that don't die from the first hit anyway).

the DotSP kills faster, yes...
but the RoL eliminated ANY need for potions before lvl 60
[in tandem with my skills of course]

i occasionally switch to the DotSP for sheer speed...
(and a gear change to maximize critical hits)
but the RoL is my main weapon for my main character.

personally the RoL was worth it - for me
i rather enjoy a slightly longer battle watching my life bar jump up & down
and not being in any danger as i take massive iqhan criticals and heal for free.
(im speaking of my relative power around lvl 40-60)
and at this point, 8hp & 6ap PER KILL is almost TOO strong...

my 104 is benched for now

You made it to 104???? Wow, what ever happened to staying around lvl 50? lol guess that didnt work out for you. **TEASING**

OP: I use the RoLS (which was a pain in the rear to get) and the DotSP.

yeah, i went a little bonkers in the Iqhan Cave after getting my RoL...
it was hard to stop killing!

haha...

but im also starting over for the [F.A.Q. / Walkthrough / Testing / etc.]
so the amout of playing i do is still pretty obscene...

side note: again, cheers to Mino for an awesome play-style! :D

"on topic" side note: i could see the DotSP getting nerfed like the venomous dagger did!
(conjecture ONLY) AND...

i could also see the GoLF getting a boost.
(once more, conjecture only)

so i wanted ALL the strong weapons...
who knows which will be the best in the end???

just some thoughts... 8-)

If you're going for a critical hit build, then definitely nothing beats the Dagger of the Shadow Priests when combined with all the critical chance boosting gear available in shops. And part of my reason for building around the ElyR was because I wanted to use it after going to all the trouble of getting it (but not that much trouble thanks to level 10 in Magic Finder and decent luck).

Between the 2 Legendary Weapons the ROL is more unique because of the HP you gain on hit and kill. The only thing that comes close is the Shadow of the slayer from the Kazul boss, and that's only 1 HP on kill. The ElyR could be substituted with the shop-bought Balanced Steel sword which even has more AC, only 1 less AD on the max range, and even has a lower AP cost to attack. So mostly I'm using it because of its Legendary status.

The Chaos Reaper is fun because it can inflict Chaotic Grip on your enemies, and none of the other store-bought items offer that particular effect.

Ofcourse the Two ROLS and switching between DotSp and RoL whenever need arises of them.
DotSp kills faster than anything but RoL heals so no need of potions.

I use sometimes GoLF just for change .:P

no other items are used by me

I don't use any item which can't be bought, yet I'm not sure how I got "Jewel of Fallhaven". I even don't use "Dagger of shadow priests" since I'd like to fight bare handed. It seems to me equally well but gives me more attack rounds which is IMO more fun.
