Wrong exp when fighting 2 monsters

I have had my "display loot" window setting set to off for so long that if this is a bug, I wouldn't notice so I just tried it.
I fought multiple multi-enemy fights with the display loot window on and didn't see the behavior you described.

I always get the experience from both added together. (Just one amount given, but it is the sum of the individual values.)

I also get the added XP from both (or all if more than 2) monsters.

But keep in mind, each monster seems to have an XP range so it might seem low if both monsters only dropped the minimum amount of XP you can get from them, and normally you see the maximum amount.

In the Iqhan caves, I get different XP from the same monsters (its easier to tell when its the color robe guys or the Chaos beast). Unless its an effect of the Quick Learner skill?

I also get different exp points from some of the Iqhan monsters, in particular the chaos beast. I get 308 sometimes, and around 295 most of the time. I have not been there for quite a while, so I don't remember the lower value exactly. But it is not a range, it is one of two values, never in between, so I figured it was a game feature. I have 2 QL levels.
Then I was looking through code, which I mostly don't understand, but in the monster list there seems to be a chaos beast 1 and a chaos beast 2. I imagine that explains the two levels of experience I get. I did not see whether there were two varieties of the guys in the colored robes, because they are varieties of one monster type, and I got lost in the code, which does not give the experience values anyway. Those must be in a different list. I have trouble with the code, but I can read the labels for the spaces where the values go.

That's correct, there are two monsters with the same displayname, "Iqhan chaos beast" - one has 122HP and one has 140HP, which explains the difference in experience. Same goes for "Iqhan chaos evoker" and "Iqhan chaos servant". Well spotted lady black
