my thoughts on 'Movement Method' (game settings)

i am starting to change my movement method recently...
(as needed) here is why -

straight: seems to work best when i am grinding (seeking confrontations)
avoid: seems to work best when i am traveling (avoiding combat)

does moving in 'straight line only' make it easier to lock into combat against dodgy enemies?
to me, it feels like it does...
and... if so - how would high evasion treat an Legendary / Extraordinary Item hunter?

your thoughts?

edit: i turn off the D-pad

I don't understand. You walk up to a monster and if you hit it first then you attack first (most times).
Walking straight or diagonally, is this what you are saying?

you can move diagonally in both

when i pick Avoid - i skip around trees & roll around corners at ease
but, it also feels like its harder for me to 'catch' an enemy with a first strike

i then think - evasion adds to this effect

when i pick Straight - it is slower to move about obstacles, but i hit first more often
(as opposed to circling the enemy a few times before starting combat)

im saying that i switch, to suit my needs - based on results.

(of course, this is only my opinion)

What do you mean

Oh I get it. You need to be clearer! Those are the "movement" settings. I have been using "avoid obstacles" for many months, after using "straight movement" for about 9 months. I like "avoid obstacles" much better.

I have always used the "avoid" setting, but do get frustrated that I slip around monsters instead of running into them. I will try the other way for a while and see how it works.
