I seen over 40 reports of off topic discussions today. It would have taken quite a chunk of my day to go through and delete all of them.

Please stay on topic. Consider this a minor warning to everyone.

The next warning will get your post removed.

Thank you for keeping our forums uncluttered with off topic post.

In order to keep the forums running well and to prevent problems, please follow these simple rules. If you have any questions or problems, feel free to contact either oskarwiksten or sdevaney on the forums.

#1 - Please post in correct section(s). Read the forum descriptions before posting.

#2 - All posts must be in English.

#3 - While debating and discussing is fine, rudeness, insulting posts, personal attacks purposeless inflammatory posts or knowingly dodging the word filter will not be tolerated.

#4 - Please refrain from posting meaningless threads, one word (or short) non-sense posts, or the such. Multiple or repeated posting in order to increase your post count is not allowed.

#5 - Advertising, spamming and trolling are not allowed. This includes using the forum Private message system to spam other members.

#6 - Discussion of illegal activities such as software and music piracy and other intellectual property violations are not allowed.

#7 - Always use the spoiler tag when posting quest information.

#8 - Also while these rules cover most common situations, they cannot anticipate everything. Consequently we reserve the right to take any actions we deem appropriate to ensure these forums are not disrupted or abused in any way.

Don't be sassy, i was just posting that i had read the Rules and agree to them.

Also #4 says "one word non-sense posts" not that one word posts are not allowed (as long as the responce applies to the conversation on the thread)

I completely agree that we have had some crazy topics. I also think we have been a bit too relaxed with that rule.

Most of this is my fault, as I did not set up clear guidelines for the wonderful moderation team to follow.

I have since remedied that situation, as well as looking for more help by opening up the moderator applications.

Hopefully we can move forward with a cleaner, more organized, and more informative community.

Thanks,
sdevaney

P.S - For those that are interested here is the guideline for moderators concerning "Thread Drift"

Thread Drift
Sometimes, in the course of a conversation, messages wander off-topic. It happens. Discussions are organic, they branch in different directions. While it is important that the content of the threads match the title, the answer is NOT to wade in yell at people to stay on topic. Split the thread. Clip out the diverging discussion to create a new thread with a different title. That way we have two (or more!) interesting (and appropriately-named) threads.
