Andor's Trail

I had been struggling to stay alive in iqhan cave, and could not kill the boss. One item made the difference, and it was suprising at first because it was an item available early. Im talking about the jewel of fallhaven amulet. With 12ap you can strike 4 times, add in 40% cc, i rarely get touched. in fact I got the boss before he could swing back, and im only lv 25.
Been playing a week and love the game btw! Hope to see more soon!

yeah, being BETA...
this game has balance issues IMHO

oskar & team keep tweaking things, like cost or location of high impact items
in the earliest posts here, oskar was talking about it being more quest based...

the closer we get to ALPHA the more rich the world will become
and i think it will flow alot differently than it does now...

even this past Skill update made my level 1 character feel A LOT different
and the next update will bring us closer to his final vision

like i said earlier tonight,
less grinding - more exploring

following that trail!

I hope it doesn't change too much. I really love it the way it is, if it changes a lot who knows? Can it really get better; it's already so awesome...

i could play the BETA forever it feels...

Are RPGs different in that BETA comes before ALPHA??

yes - the first time i played 5 hp potions cost 5gp
and meat was never used for healing just gold

its NOTHING like that now
[well - the game is different enough for me to totally change tactics]

not just @ low levels - but the high ones too

my 4th character in the mid 30's...
6.8 & 6.9 were not as vastly different as 6.10

implementing skills changed EVERYTHING...
moved where they sold other great items, farther away
and they took away our best weapon - and made it weaker!
i could go on...

all that - to fix what felt wrong...
the question is - what's the next HUGE change [as big as the Skills update]???

if the alpha ever hits the market,
i have a feeling it will be EPIC(er?)

the version numbers v0.6.9 are like a countdown to the alpha...
the higher they get - the closer it is to being ''done''

im guessing the next update will be v0.6.11 or v0.7
v1.0 will be the FULL VERSION of Andor's Trail

Not really. Could you add a reference of a developer speaking of an alpha version in such way?
We have a waterfall system:
a) code new features and provide new areas and submit it to the svn for user compiled nightlys
b) once it looks acceptable stable provide an alpha of it to the community
c) fix the bugs out of it and provide better alphas
d) once it looks ready to release provide a beta.
e) provide further betas when necessary
f) release the final version to the market and start at (a)

This cycle is repeated over and over again until the content of the final version is ready.

The next will be 0.6.11.

Right: the final version (content complete) will be v1.0.0

So like everything else in the known universe, Alpha versions come before Beta versions, right?
