Andor's Trail

I'm playing a 2nd time and when I beat the rat in the cave I don't get the special dagger. What am I doing wrong. I received it the first time I played this game. I'm at level 5.

How is that special dagger called? I didn't get it either and I'm playing the second time.
Maybe you mix it up with the "Venomous Dagger" from the snake dungeon south of Crossglen!?

Thank you. I've been trying over and over to get the dagger. I'll move on to the cave south of Crossglen.
