What happens upon update?

So I read something about all of our items minus one will be sold out of our inventory for gold upon update. Is that true? I rather liked the measure of my grinding work to be the fact that I have near a thousand Iron Swords, 5,000 Rubies, etc. etc.

No that does not happen.

NO, IT IS NOT TRUE! You keep your inventory as it was before you updated. But if you want to sell of a bunch of bones, say, that you have accumulated, you now have a shop/drop interface that will let you sell or drop from 1 to all of them quickly and easily in just one transaction. It was produced with much talk about various approaches to the problem, some of which mentioned +1 and -1 buttons, which may be what you were thinking of in your idea that your inventory would disappear.
While I was typing, sdevaney already answered, but I am posting this anyway.

The price of some items in your inventory was supposed to change to match the new value based on this last update, but I didn't notice because I don't really remember how much everything was before.
The one I did notice is that small rocks are now worth 1 gold, instead of 0 before the update.

I thought he was worried about people "cheating" with the changes in prices? Did the prices not change? I stocked up on Bonemeal just in case. I have so much gold it doesn't really matter anyway, but it may save me trips back down later on.

This is only true for more than one quickstrike dagger.

And the Iron Sword... The one thing that I really wanted to keep to show my insane dedication to grinding in the prison. And I got a measly 90k for all my stuff. Who cares about 90k when you have been grinding this much? And if you haven't been grinding, how much can you really "cheat"? I've wasted thousands of gold buying and selling stuff just so I could reorder it in my inventory...
It also sells your: Green Apple, Carrot, Mushroom, Eggs, Radish, Strawberry, Iron Hammer, Leather Gloves, and Leather Boots.

Why not simply drop the items and pick them back up in the order you want them in your inventory?

I did not learn you could drop items until someone suggested it as a way to find your way back through that dark cave at the bottom of BWM. Plus, before the multiple drop/sell thing, it would have been a pain in the A.
