I misspoke. It can happen in Brimhaven, but only in one limited area (and I'm not going to reveal where). It does not happen very often anywhere though, so trying to make it happen could be a very long process.

Maybe requiering to talk to Fangwurm before you can use the item?

I think that You don't need to change this quest. It is well balanced.
IMO

talk with Fangwurm

isn't required if He doesn't give You something necessary to continue playing or only gives a smaller benefit (item or something else).

I think I understand. The hints are too obvious and so you could kill the Basilisk without talking to Fangwurm. But this takes the biggest part of the quest (and some XP) away. Did you try it? I think I will have to adjust the quest.

I think that I will try it in stable release (lack of time right now). Some hint in started dialogue ( some like that " there is the Bassilisk in this cave , talk to Fangwurm…" should be enough.

Bug, hitting the guy from 2 space difference area, he is actually taking 2 or 3 spots, after rethinking i came to conlussion you perhaps made it with a reason?

We changed the wording with the children so that it's clear you are talking to them as a group, not to the one child.

when talking with Alvis and Attohead (2 guys who told you to destroy the dam) once you fixed the dam, they are still talking about how great you did when you were destroying the dam... it kinda feels out of space..
