yeah, i'm a bit obsessed with Android, rooting, custom roms, etc. 
Android 7 hasn't been out for very long, but a few custom rom devs are already caught up & have 7.1.1
i was thinking i was flashing a 7.1 rom but it was 7.1.1 (nice!)
official support for my phone (if it was stock) is 4.4... forget that!
that and i can get rid of all that awful white UI,
as you can see i like it blacked out!

that rom is Vanir, if anyone was curious...
it's called Commoito - but it's a fork from Vanir.
at any rate - bumping up to 7.1.1 fixed the HP & XP bars issue!
i can see them, although they are a little thin - but they are there.
