Why rebuilding Prim? It doesn't lie in ruins (although I killed their leader). Do you mean the mine?

Topic: Fast Travel
Are you pro or con?
Please explain why.

As the map spreads further and further it will be a needed addition. Think of the quest that requires you to go from Remgard to BWM and back. By the time your player is strong enough to make it to Remgard making your way to blackwater becomes a simple task, that is very time consuming without much reward.
Maybe it isn't quite the time for fast travel, but at somepoint the amount of time required to travel from place to place will outweigh the rewards gained from it and begin to deter some 'less-commited' players.

Rebuilding the mine could grant a fast travel to Prim/BWM, so we are not sooo far away from topic
Since I nearly got lost today on my first travel through the dark maze since v7 came out, I'm pro that specific one.
But generally con.
(Edit)
PRO:
Occasional shortcuts that open after you reached a remote place on the long run and solved all the related quests.
CON:
A general fast travel system like teleporting from one town to another.

i was pushing for fast travel awhile back, but after starting over...
i may be changing my mind a bit.
i really appreciate the ability to now move between screens almost anywhere there is open area.
it really loosened the reigns & let us be more direct when traveling in certain directions.
for instance...
there are a few things we could do, in game... like the mine opening.
make it a short cut, not a teleport... but a much more direct path to our destination?
[underground tunnels that are off the map, of something like that?]
just kinda throwing stuff out there,
and sharing my thoughts on the new feel of the game.
good stuff here guys!

I'm not a huge fan of this idea (In fact i have given this idea a -1 before) but here is an idea none-the-less. =)
Fast Travel is more like Teleportation. Opening the mine would be like creating a shortcut. not quite the same concept.
Story:
You walk up to a stable just outside the doors to one of the larger cities... you are approached by a man standing at the head of what seems to be a convoy of wagons. The leader looks down at you from the top of the wagon and says "Where are you heading boy?"
taken back at first you slowly respond "I'm heading home to Crossglen."
The Wagon leader replies: "Well for 1,000 gold i can take you to Fallhaven, that's the farthest west i am heading"
"Alright you got yourself a deal mister", you pay the man and hop in the wagon 2nd in line.
As the wagons start to shake as they start to roll down the road you slowly slip into a dream of when you were a child playing with Andor in the fields outside your house... You suddenly wake up and notice that you are in Fallhaven already. "Wow that was fast!"
As you walk away from the convoy you wave at the Wagon Leader.... as he fades into the distance you hear his voice one last time "Happy hunting kid!"
==================================
There are a few locations that could be used for this idea.
South Fallhaven
Loneford
Remgard
Prim (Not BWMS, horses don't climb well)
Just throwing out an idea or two. Oooh another. lol
You could do a quest or series of quests to "clear the path" which could allow you to use fast travel after completion. The quest could require the player to go back and forth along the road many times thus "clearing" the road so the wagons could get by. ((Maybe have the quest requirement be kill ### of NPCs on a certain map tile or a couple map tiles))

Those two wouldn't fit either, the nearest place you can go on the way to Prim is the well just before the steps up the mountain,
before you enter the mine and remgard isn't reachable since horses can't climb up the rope in bugs cave

Remgard could be a boat trip though (as mentioned earlier).
Regarding "clearing the path": The "caravan" could be ambushed, depending on your kill count.
As less you "cleared the path", as higher would be the probability being ambushed by "path specific" monsters.
And it's your task to defend the caravan. Of course (since you slept) you would have full HP.
Regarding price: This would be a nice opportunity to make a use of gems.
"For 1000 gold and 10 sparkling gems you can join us on our way to Fallhaven."
(edit)
Though still sceptical about a general fast travel system this one at least would fit into the concepted world.
And with the possibility of ambushs it wouldn't be a 100% save travel (which I dislike).

Yes you are correct, i didn't think about the cave leading to Prim. I was thinking that the caravan could definitly travel along the Duliern road (Spelling?) so it could include Fallhaven, Vilegard, Crossroads Guard House, Loneford, and maybe Feygard when it is released.
Price: Yes!!!! The Sparkling Gems would be a prefect addition to the price! Great suggestion.

Instead of monsters attacking there are thieves along the road as well
