You get a skill point at every 4th level. Spend them wisely as they can make a huge difference. There are a couple of very handy threads on this forum about where players have allocated their skills. 'Mead drinker' is a very popular skill. It allows you to drink a gallon of mead then fall over. 'Butterfingers' is my favorite. This skills causes you to repeatedly drop your sword or dagger increasing your enemies chance of hitting you for a critcal hit x10.
Hope this helps

Oh, and I strongly suggest Fortitude as your first level, maybe even your first two, and then some Quick Learner, the two most time sensitive skills.

Increased Fortitude right off the bat is my favorite for a new player. The increase adds up so fast when you are still at a lower level and gaining levels faster
New skill Points come on lvls:
4, 8, 12, 16, 20, 24, 28, 32, 36, 40, 44, 48, and so on

I am hooked too. Since i was on BWM for so long and it took so long to level up it was getting harder and harder to get to the point where i level up but now i am flying through the levels like i am level 20 again. WOOT!

Are those the 2 that you are using or not using?
So the Evaison skill kinda gives you a first strike advantage? Hmmmm maybe i might just have to invest a lil into that.

2 better criticals

the benefits of the skills i
did not chose, are not lost on me!
i will start over here in a bit - trying out totally new tactics, feeling things out...
i will report my new findings / opinions

Nice spread for your skills. you got quite an enteresting selection of advantages from your skill points. I never gave Evasion much of a chance but i am starting to think i might have underestimated it.

I agree that Increased Fortitude also ranks high among the skills. I would put it as right after Combat Speed for beginners, and still pretty high up later in the game. I plan to use my 20th skill point on it. Quick Learner has been really great but I agree its more appreciated at higher levels.
As for your other questions, I went over what I think are useful or not and why here:
http://andorstrail.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=1106&start=0
(3rd post from the top).
short version: I don't plan to use skill points for anything I can get from normal level ups, or that don't directly affect my character stats.
Great points on the skills! I agree with your idea on not using your skills for things you can get from a basic level up.
Now my next question is:
Is there anything you would recomend to make the "less useful" skills better? Like a small ajustment on the bonus the make it more desireable?

Pyrizzle those skills i mentioned are IMO the most usefull ones to me (lvl 100+).
And your second guestion: IMO resistance skills should give better bonus. +25 or something.

I have noticed several people saying the corpse eater skill is useless. I have it at level 4 and stand by it.
I just went twice through the Izthel cave, the first time I counted how many kills I made when I had below max HP (184) the second I counted how many I made in total (243) I followed the same pattern so numbers killed should be similar in both runs.
Anyway, this works out at around 76% of the kills I make I get health back, generally 4 hp. This means each run I save somewhere around 18 bonemeal potions each run which I would otherwise have had to buy. Over both runs I only used 1 bonemeal potion and I didn't need to reload at all due to being killed. While the value may be perceived as lower than other skills, the ability to run through the Izthel cave without having to be super careful is defiantly useful and speeds up the levelling. Had I used "regeneration" it would take 18 minutes per run to generate the same hp assuming 4 points were in the regeneration skill.
Also corpse eater couples well with fortitude (I have level 2 fortitude which has given me an additional 103 hp)

I don't recall anybody claiming the corpse eater is "useless". All I said was that it should give HP after the battle is over.
