I managed from lvl 60 to lvl 61 in abount 9 hours over the weekend. Seems respawns are faster that way as well.
I had recently been trying different settings too. For a while I had "combat speed" set to Fast, but after seeing this, I tried out Instant (no animation) today and it definitely sped things up. I tried "show short notification" for the monster loot, but I like seeing exactly what I got, so I switched back to the loot dialog box. And of course, I turned off Confirm attack, that saved time too (so did confirm rest).

I to had changed all my settings to speed up game play, but I also like to see exactly what I get. It would be nice if there was an option to choose a notification box that flashed up all the loot briefly without having to "pick it up".
Just like the short notification......only with the extra loot.

I want to see exactly who I killed for a legendary item. (when/if I get one)

Just thought I'd add to this now that we have some new areas after the v0.6.10 update.

The new Iqhan/chaos caves offer more XP at a faster rate than even the path between the BWM settlement and that (by now) well known cabin.

Just a couple catches though:
The creatures here are probably even tougher than the Wyrms or their trainers, and there's a lot of them. But if you can survive there (it helps if you used your skill points to increase your AP to 12, and used at least 1 each to increase critical chance and critical multiplier). But if you were already able to get the dagger of the shadow priest, then you should be fine grinding there. Just make sure you've got a good amount of bone meal potion since there's no bed nearby.

Everyone in the red, blue, green and purple robes and the chaos beasts give between 235-275 XP, the highest XP you can get in this new version, and there's a lot of them so re-spawning time isn't really an issue.

(Edit: removed the spoilers since I'm not really giving away any of the story or hints on where to get items)

Good point well made. I just returned there after going back to grind at BWM. Much better exp and lots of goodies to be looted. Those coat of many colours boys can dish out some pain but that makes it more interesting.

Yeah, they definitely do more damage than even the Wyrms and their trainers. If I get first attack I can usually kill them off, thanks to some skill points towards CC & CM, and a nice little dagger their boss dropped when I killed him. But if they get a chance to hit me, its usually not pretty.

So with V0.6.10 out now there are a few new places that should be added to the list:

-Iqhan Cave-
Amazing amount of baddies to kill, they give a generous amount of XP, tons of gold and items to sell off for gold.

BEWARE: They can hit for alot of damage (to see a listing of max damage look at the link below)

The Bee's near the Woodcutters also tend to give a good amount of Xp for a low level player bu have a poor amount of Gold and items that they drop.

The Izthiel Monsters on the bridges leading up the Iqhan Caves also drop great amount of XP but i feel there isnt enough spawning points to make it a good place to level.

I generally run the entire cave system, stay in the last room for 2 minutes, then run out. If I have other things to do I do those leaving my guy outside, otherwise clearing all those bridges, the pond and all the frogs along the river takes me just over 2 minutes 90% of the time, so the cave is full again.

I just wish we could use those beds in near the pond... perhaps for a price of 500 claws, I miss the instant resetting when sleeping...
