oskar didnt post, but sdevaney did...
as did samuel - im assuming this is the same gentleman listed in the credits for programming
so, AFAIK... we will see this 'in game' as soon as there are enough to justify coding time
this is all just speculation - and my point of view after reading this thread.
i could be totally wrong here, just my $0.02
For all clarity, I'm in no way dismissing this work as pointless or something. It's just that I've seen a lot of this kind of contributions in other open source things that were really good work, but of limited use because of the implementation. Basically, it all depends on how they code it what kind of images are usefull. I definately respect (and rejoice in) the fact people put work in things like this, and it's out of this respect that I asked myself the question, so I posted it to make shure the effort doesn't go to waste.

very cool!
you make an excellent point...
and i hope i didn't come off as abrasive,
the last thing i wanted was to be all preachy...
i really hope all this work is used too!
i cant wait to see new things implemented!!!

I think all the images would look better if we got the character a haircut, getting rid of the long hair hanging down on the sides of the neck. I think that would do wonders for the leather armor appearance, losing the solid-brown-from-head-to-toe-look that makes him look sort of smothered. If you can get rid of the red bag, you should be able to get rid of the hair, right?
Perhaps the dagger should be in his hand or a belt sheath rather than a "shoulder sheath" in place of the sword.
Excellent images, I am looking forward to seeing them included in the game, whatever update that will be.

ok, i have the image saved from the source...
what is the easiest & cheapest (free?) way to edit the PNG?
my lap-top is bare, so im assuming i would need to download an editor or something...
im hoping i can edit it pixel by pixel - or something like a paintbrush setup.
thx in advance

+1 I have both, I like paint.net more than gimp, though that's just personal preference.

gimp is just hard to use first time around.
paint.net is simple and faster and gimp with all its various options (which i dont understand lol ).

How is paint for quality nowadays? I know i used it (till i found gimp) to touch up some of my drawings and noticed that after the images were saved it would blur straight lines (is this perhaps some of the blur issue or has there been advancement in the paint program from the xp pc version??)

No reason to use MS Paint (the paint that comes with Microsoft Windows) when you can use Paint.NET. Much more powerful but still has that simple and easy interface that makes quick tasks a breeze.
The Gimp is a much higher end product on a comparable level to Adobe Photoshop and even though it has many more features it's also more difficult to learn and use. I keep both Gimp and Paint.NET on my computer but always go for Paint.NET first if possible.
