How are you grinding so many of these? I got like 250 of them now but is there a way to clear them faster or get more monsters?
It seems taking long to clear and wait for respawn or walking to the bed north of the city ( i dont know the name right now)

Clear, sit still, respawn, clear again... (It takes a long time but you will gain tons of Gold, Items, and XP)

Some players will use a reload technique (You will loose all XP, gold, etc along the way, but it is the quickest)

Wait until al NPCs have spawned... Save Game.... Kill!... Check inventory.... (If no Rols) Reload save file... Repeat until fruitful.

Sir... I need to remind you! Most of the rpg games have the ( boring ...) ultimate weapon and gear thing.... But please remember that this is not the cace in the realm of AT... Especially in low and midle level character... you can make a huge difference if you use right "gear".

I've decided to join the treasure hunting club... I had my first Rols after only 300 shadow trainers. Thinking I was lucky, I decided to go for a second one. Lol nope! :D I killed a total of 3389 of those trainers now, and luck hasn't been on my side since the first one. I managed to keep myself satisfied by levelling all this time, going from 15 to 30. But it's repetitiveness is striking me pretty hard now.

I somehow would appreciate it if the game had a method of increasing the spawn rate at the cost of 5 random negative actor conditions, like a cursed ring. Just for the heck of it. :P

Congrats on the quick find Tav! And welcome to the forum. It has been suggested before to have some way to increase spawn rate by having some negative condition tied to it. We just keep throwing ideas out there and see where it goes..as the game is in development and is always looking for ways to improve.

Count yourself lucky that you got 1 so quickly :P

If I were you I'd have just moved on. The Shadow Regeneration actor condition from the RoLS doesn't stack and the stats of it aren't all that much better than that of the Villain's Ring so 1 RoLS is really all you need. I've been burnt out a couple of times on the RoLS grind but I'm currently back there again myself still looking for my first one.

If you do still want a second ring, I'd suggest that you take it easy and don't force yourself to continue the grind. Take frequent breaks, go clear some other content for a while and then come back when you're ready. It really helps when you don't feel pressured to just sit there and grind day in and day out. This will slow your progress but hopefully it'll still keep the game fun for you and that is, in my humble opinion, far more important.

This is the problem with Magic Find (MF). It goes something like this:

Player
1) I want loot, so let me look into MF.
2) I notice MF comes with an opportunity cost of not getting some other character upgrade.
3) I notice MF doesn't actually do anything other than save me time grinding. Once I have my items, it's worthless.
4) Conclusion: I will skip MF and grind more.

Developer
1) I want to make ultimate loot with a reasonably long grind required to attain it.
2) I notice that if a player takes MF, item acquisition is forshortened, ruining the play experience I'm trying to create.
3) I will compensate by planning my drop rates around the concept of a player having (some number) of points in MF.
4) Conclusion: Drop rates are absurd without MF because they are balanced around having a few points of it.

Result:
Developer is forced to account for MF when planning drop rates by making things overly grindy, otherwise MF completely ruins the game by making items drop at inappropriate rates.
Player is frustrated by terrible drop rates and falls into one of the following traps...
1) Player considers MF mandatory, meaning that the developer's plan to add meaningful choices is rendered meaningless, and the player feels "forced" to pick MF, which creates resentment.
--or--
2) Player refuses to select MF because once the items the player wants are obtained, MF is worthless. Player therefore feels "forced" to either give up on their item goals, which is depressing, or player feels "forced" to grind endlessly, which is boring.

MF is a fun ruiner.

Please note that this is the same quandry that results from the EXP boosting options in your leveling up scheme (it's either mandatory or worthless, but since it exists the developers have to make leveling up painfully slow for everyone, or else the person who takes EXP-up will be overpowered).

I would strongly encourage you to remove both of these skills from the game, or alternately make them only obtainable from a quest so that you control exactly how much a person could have, and can plan how grindy things are going to be around that maximum, precisely. Example: MF/EXP boost can't be selected but you can complete a one-time quest and select from a 10% increased drop rate or 5% increased EXP boost for the rest of the game. Then things like RoLS should have their drop rate adjusted. Using RoLS as an example, it ought to change from 1/10000 to 1/1000. (Seriously, I have to kill 20,000 of these things; this is just plain sadistic! What is the value of torturing your players so much that they feel like they have to choose between quitting and cheating?) Levels could come quicker when you don't have to worry about anyone getting insane EXP-up stats. (5% faster, even with my proposed reduction in leveling requirements, is hardly the threat that the current potentially busted 100% situation presents, and won't ruin anything.) The other possible solution is to put a level cap on the game, so that someone taking this stat has a faster time to endgame but pays a hefty price in lost potential when they get there. I don't think anyone wants a level cap.

Without doing something, what you have now is a situation where a person can select to level up twice as fast for half the gains in skill but all of the gains in HP/damage, and that's fairly absurd. What other choice makes sense?

Summary:
A) The current implementation of MF forces a player to select from three options: resentment at feeling forced to take it, or in the event the player doesn't take it then either depression at feeling forced to admit defeat in trying to attain their items, or constantly mounting boredom resulting from feeling forced to play Andor's Trail like a mindless item-grind zombie.
B) The current implementation of EXP-up with uncapped levels forces a player to take it or be inferior due to the fact the person without EXP-up can never catch the person who has it. X levels with great stats always loses to X levels with EXP-up stacked on top of another X levels with great stats.

As much as I would love to agree with you (and certainly, parts of your discussion are entirely valid), there's one key point that throws all of this for a loop:

Neither Legendary nor Extraordinary items are required to beat the game.

In fact, if you weren't reading the forums you'd probably never even know they existed until one fell in your lap. So yes, I would dearly love if my 4000 registered kills and roughly 2-4k save/load kills had given me a RoLS but so far, it's just one of those "things I wished I had but don't really need". As you can see from my signature, I do not have a single legendary or extraordinary item and yet I could easily complete all current content.

well said Firenaq!
and Nate - that was an excellent post...

the legendary items are easter eggs, not something we meant for everyone.
the staggering amount of people with them doesn't mean they are easy (or intended) to obtain.

it's just there for fun - that's why they aren't mentioned "in game"
i understand the frustration - and i have started to ONLY grind for these items with the kill / loot / reload technique.

this is because i want the item & i know if i am persistant enough / they will drop.
but then again, most people that have a big list of these items are both tenacious & lucky.

if you really want one, you can use a hex editor & pop it into your inventory.

this is the part where some players call it cheating...
but i call it "playing God"

if you want it bad enough & posess the skills to do so - do it.
or you can learn something & get a RoLS in the process without grinding

- - - edit - - - double post - - -

there are a few nice hex editing apps available for free on Google Play & Amazon App Store.
you just gotta want it that bad

or

ignore them & play the game like it was meant to be played.

- - - edit - - - triple post - - -

just so everyone knows, i did not use a hex editor for the drops i post in competition...
i'm only saying i know how to (i think?) and that it is an option.

also - it's somewhat educational to play with new toys.

Nyktos has a valid point and yes I have reload tech and learned the hex edit.
I am still inclined to hunt and kill for drops for me personally that is more fulfilling.
Great ideas though.
