This quest is bugged for me apparently i no longer have the debuff and it's not updating when I go to the beach area south of troll bridge. Am I doing something wrong?

I figured it out, thx. Had to go talk to him again and follow the dialogue to purchase the scale. Somehow i ended up with the quest to begin with but no scale in inventory and the debuff was there but somewhere along the way it poofed. Not sure what I did to cause it but maybe it's a bug of some sort.

The scale never goes to inventory because then we could not hinder you from simply dropping it.
You just see it as a bad condition.

Makes sense, I wasn't sure if it was actually an item or not but nonetheless, I 100% had the debuff then somehow lost it but the quest still remained. I simply went back to npc near bwm and went through the dialogue again.
