It is possible to go home and talk to Clevred and persuade him to end the quest. Then you can leave Crossglen again.
Although it is possible to reenter the quest later, not everything will be able to do as before. But at least you are not locked in Ratdom anymore.

That is exactly what I was afraid of. 0.01% drop chance if someone is stupid enough to sell them
