Good idea, but maybe after a battle in a tent, our remaining HP determines the tent condition? If too much damage is done, we'd then have to go to a town and pay a tailor for the repair.
This is getting crazy. I vote "no" to the whole tent idea. Sorry. Way overboard with this. Let's focus on finding Andor's.

I agree. Way overboard. I want to play an rpg. Not go camping, and sewing. That's for sims.

or how about the tent ALWAYS takes the damage of 1 max damage (but not critical) swing from whatever baddy attacks you. you can schlepp the thing in to any town with a tailor, whenever you want it repaired. in the meantime, the more damaged the tent is, the greater the chance you will be attacked in your sleep.
after all, the whole point to this thread was to think of something expensive. we've now gone one better; expensive AND high maintainance.

No, no, and no. Tent idea is just way to much. Now you are suggesting it has damage resistance?

i dont really like the current tent idea,
but how about a REALLY expensive consumable [one time use] tent / bedroll?
you can not be attacked overnight, but you must be next to a campfire.
solves the maintenance issue as well...

no, only suggesting a one-time damage penalty.
and while i agree, the idea is getting blown up a bit, isn't that the point to an "ideas" board?
no telling where a train of thought will take you; perhaps to something you'd like better.

i think its a fun way to incorporate existing game elements,
to make the world more immersive & alive.
the empty cabins being purchased (not built) 50-100K
camping next to a fire pit (one time use) 1-10K
IDK -fun to brainstorm whilst grinding

i had always just assumed that the empty cabins and such were there to give oskar a place to put people and things, as the story line developed.
you know, rather than having a cabin suddenly appear, where there hadn't been one, before.
as such, i never entertained the idea of being able to inhabit one of them.
besides, you already have a home, from the very beginning. even if you are the younger brother, and andor will probably inherit the place, he probably won't kick you out in the cold.
especially after all the trouble you go to, on his behalf, in this game!
