You should really look harder, but....

So i just killed Gutherbeard and went back to blackwater mountain to claim my prize. I was talking to Harlenn that i killed him etc. He was saying excellent! and then i remembered that some guy said that the game said harlenn gave him 3 items but only gave 2. So i cancelled the conversation and checked my inventory. I memorized what i had and talked to harlenn again.
I noticed i dont have the option to say i killed gutherbeard. I check my inventory again and i notice gutherbeards ring is gone, wich means harlenn took the ring from me already but when i cancelled the conversation i didnt get any rewards, thus leaving me from being reputated with rest of the blackwater faction. Now i realize im screwed.
I kill myself and spawn in Prim and go running to check for gutherbeard. Ofcourse, hes not there. So here i am ringless and factionless and i cant really do anything. My last savegame is before i had killed myself. What can i do now? Starting a new character isnt an option, i've put so much effort to this character and i even have a RoLs

Do you have a savegame after getting the RoLS and before you wanted to tell Harlenn about it?

> make a backup of your savegame folder from the sd card to your computer every few levels. (especially after you gain a RoLS etc.)

Thanks for the answer but i do not have a savegame before i screwed up. I saved game before i killed myself and respawned back in Prim. Also, is there a way to edit my savegame? For example, give me gutherbeards ring back? Its not really cheating since i already obtained it legit once

I dont think editing the savegame would be easy. It would be if you had a ring and wanted to make 2 of them, but to create things you would have to insert the right chars and would also have to correct some offsets, etc. Would be easier to create a custom build of the game with a monster dropping such a ring for sure...

Yes, the Lodar's hideaway thing was an April Fools Day joke, as the third post to this topic says. If you don't know about A.F.D., just treat any extravagent claim posted on April 1st with great suspicion, especially if it is posted by Samuel. He has a history of such jokes. Last year it involved the ring of lesser shadow.
The bonemeal potions are only available after you finish another quest, and cost 51 gold pieces each, so filling Kaori's request is expensive even after you have access to the potions.
