Blackwater vs Prim

I think I should have gone with Blackwater though. Especially if I want to persue an ElyR. I probably could have gotten a bed in Blackwater really close to the Wyrm guys I'd be wacking.

I will be going with blackwater after getting a couple more levels. You need a ton of attack chance to ...well have a chance.

I went the way of the Blackwater folk. My main reason for this was that something seemed to be wrong with the 'directions' to their township... like someone or something was trying to keep anyone and everyone from going their way (scratched signposts). The agent, while seemingly shifty at first, seemed to me more like an desperate soldier looking for anyone to help his town. Prim did seem helpless at first, but in my honest opinion, I feel that there is some other entity or group pitting each against the other...

Oh, this is my first post and I would like to say Hello to all and a HUGE THANK YOU to the dev's and Oskar! This game rocks! I didn't want to join until I received my first RoLS, but decided to anyway as that may never happen...lol.

Since I already had 2 games going because of the Vacor or Unziel choice, I was able to try siding with each. First off, who ever you side with, kill the enemy king, don't choose the peaceful option because the kings drop items when you kill them. Unfortunately I tried the non-kill option when siding w/Prim so I got nothing off the BW king.

Also, if you haven't left the town near the gargoyle caves, buy some milk (at least 5)

both sides have plans to attack each other so they're equally guilty.

Pros of siding w/ Prim: they sell the potions to cure fatigue, poison, and speed potion (increased AP)

Cons: the item shops have nothing worth buying, and you can't rest at the Black Water Mountain town.

Pros of siding w/BWM: they sell a good armor, hat, and swords, the rage inducing potion (increased HP).

Cons: just that you can't buy the speed potion which comes in handy for killing before they can hit you.

Unaffected: being able to rest in Prim, being able to buy fatigue cures, the kazal quest, being able to buy minor healing potions in prim

One lastg thing, if you retrieve that guy's family dagger in Prim, give it to the guy who wants to sell it, you get more reward.

Thanks for the reply, but could you list the items from Blackwater shops and what the King of Prim drops? Lastly, in the dagger quest you are told to look up the owners relatives later on for thanks as he has nothing to give you, but that area isn't available yet. I hope they grant a decent reward.

I didn't write down what I got from where so this is the best of my recollection...

After killing the King of Prim you get
"Sword of Shadow's Rage which has AP 5, AC 21%, AD 3-6, BC 5%, and you get a 50% chance of giving yourself berserker rage with each kill"
Barbed dagger which has AP 4, AC 15%, BC 5%, 50% chance of bleeding wound on target when you hit them

One is dropped by the Prim King, the other is given to you from the Black Water Mountain King after you tell him the Prim King is gone. I forget which is which but I think the dagger is dropped.

The items you can buy at the BWM town are:
Blackwater poisoned dagger - AP 3, AC 45%, AD 1, 50% chance of weak poison on target when you hit them. It also give you "Blackwater misery" which I think someone else on the board mentioned it reduced your AC (but only once total, not per item)

Blackwater leather armour - BC 25%, DR 1, gives you blackwater misery

Blackwater leather cap - BC 21%, Raises max HP +5, gives you blackwater misery

Blackwater ring of combat - AC 5%, AD 0-7, gives you blackwater misery.
**I bought one of these but overall its not as helpful as a ring of damage +6

And the potion guy sells the potion of blind rage but I think I already mentioned that one. Both kings also drop/give you some kind of potion (just one) and a polished ring.

Thanks again. I wish I had gone with Blackwater now, as the Prim shops are completely useless. I was expecting some decent items, but one remains unavailable and the blacksmith is worse than any other in the game. For the release I would strongly suggest Oskar place some good items in the Prim shops to compensate.

Since the Blackwater blight doesn't stack, if you equip all the items all you have to do is compensate for the 50% reduction in AC, but the weapon grants 20% more than most others alone. Overall your BC and damage would get a significant boost for a small AC drop.

There are potions you can buy in Prim that aren't sold in Blackwater that can be helpful.

mainly the potion of speed since it gives you an extra 2 AP, but also the poison antidote

But if you only want to have 1 game going, I would suggest siding with the people of Blackwater.
