Say you completed 3 quests, including the rats cave in crossglen that involves killing a boss, and doing so, you gathered a total of 1728xp and killed 38 monsters.
Your quests points are 10k+10k+20k =40 000.
Your divider (penalty) is 1728+38=1766.
Your Gandhi score is 40 000 / 1766 = 22 (rounded down).

You need gold to buy the best allowed equipment but with fewest EXP?
No problem, just get killed regularly and be reborn

Nut brings up a good point --- death removes EXP.... so the tendency would be to LET YOURSELF be killed in order to lower your overall score.

So what PENALTY would you add for deaths, Zukero?

I'm OK with your math, I just was thinking straightforward EXP would be the best gauge overall.

As such ----- This Challenge is still being nailed down and I am willing to include your equation for the effective overall score, once we factor in deaths.

You of all people should know that. Mahatma Gandhi was a great Indian lawyer, who fought for the independence of India through non-violence. He won the peace Nobel prize and is considered the father of the Indian nation.

When we finalize the matter of how we are scoring the challenge.... and I go back to re-edit the initial post.... I will gladly correct my Westernized spelling of Ghandi Gandhi's name.

OK. Gandhi score = Quests points / ((2 ^ Death count) x (XP + kill count))
Death is baaaaad.
No death = my previous formula.
Die once, score is divided by two.
Die twice, score is divided by four.
I think it really more than makes up for the XP loss.

Which Quests have "Bosses"?

I included Calomyran Secrets because Larcal is a boss..... correct?

What defines "Boss" --- to a Gandhi character? Which Quests count for the Boss "Bonus"?

your equation cites number of kills as a factor. IS that the total number for your TOPMOST killed monster or the TOTAL of the top five most killed, combined? What was your thinking here?

I don't have a specific quest list compiled, but any quest that involves the mandatory killing of a unique NPC can be considered as having a boss. The rat cave in crossglen is a boss quest.
As for monsters killed, you have a number on the character overview page that gives the total number of killed monsters, just above the most commonly used item.

My Gandhi score: 30,000.

Three quests completed, never killed anything, never died, never gained even a point of exp.
Completed Breakfast Bread (no exp reward), Drunken Tale (I didn't drink the mead, just bought it), and Cheap Cuts (by declining to take part, it shows up as completed).

When considering other quests: The Path is Clear to Me was a contender, since it has a boss (assuming you count the river troll). However, adding in 20,000 more on the top, but getting even that one kill in the divisor would reduce the score to 25,000, so it wasn't worth it.

I also attempted to get both Lost Sheep and Cheap Cuts, by taking both, then attacking a sheep, then running away without hurting it, but it wouldn't let me decline Cheap Cuts at that point, so it was the same score.

I'm not sure the current scoring method is making this challenge the way you want to make it, since putting exp in the divisor means that you simply cannot ever gain any exp at all. Even finding Oromir would never be worth it, since it would cause a 50 point increase in the divisor.

Zukero, I think he has a point.

I actually attempted MORE quests, but end up with a higher score. He simply beats me by picking those quests wherein he gains nothing in the way of EXP.

Where's the balance here?

I think we need new math.

BTW: Kashim --- very well done. I honestly didn't think about going for the money quests alone. That was a very smart move.
