I would like to be able to click the entrance to an area on the map (ie:cave) and have it bring up that locations map.

That would be really cool sorrow, however with all of that information easily accesable on the forums, it would be really low on the list.

Being able to long click on a map tile from the map and being able to leave a note is something that i would really like to see added into the game.

You could mark:
Openings to Caves you haven't gone into
Dead Ends that you may want to come back to later
Spots you may come back to for hunting specific items (Gold, equipment, potions, etc)
And much more

This is something that would be very useful to players who are just starting out

+1 to this idea!

I think what sorrow was talking about, was an in-game beastiary that can work in tandem with the map itself. If you select a certain map it will bring up the monster's located there, how much xp they give, what they drop.... etc... and the player note section as well. I think it would be really cool, and it would be even cooler if the monster information has to be found in lore, or a reward for a quest.

Not sure if this was directed at my last post, my post was commenting on the ideas of the original post on this thread.

I'm afraid that putting the NPCs stats, drops, etc would be giving the player too much information in the game and might take away from players adventuring around and discovering the land for themselves. But if the ability to mark spots and leave notes was added in players could mark stats or drops that they find important to them.

I don't want this to sound like i am ripping off pokemon, but what if there was a quest where you have to find and fight all the different NPCs in the game and get rewards for gathering information on them? Maybe some sort of research for an Adventurer's handbook?

Maybe have some of the folklure (Written by forum members) available to read after defeating XX amount of NPCs of that type.

Just a few ideas.

Pry that's what I ment. Say u go to the snake cave and pull up the map, if u have already been there it the monsters would show up and it would show u what u have gotten from em

What i suggested is slightly different.

Yours would include Stats, XP, Gold, Items, Etc

My suggestion would add flavor text (or folklure) about the NPC, but no stats at all.
For example: Poisonous Snake: "On hot summer days these snakes can be found climbing the inside walls of the cavern in order to soak up the heat from the sun hitting the top" (Not bad for my first piece of flavor text i gotta say.)
