This could just as easily be a potion, since it gives you an actor condition. But I think a way to get crit immunity would be a great addition to the game. I think this should be something hard to come by, not something you could rack up a huge pile of (so none in shops), so that you really have to pick your spots.

It could be a repeatable quest, just a really hard one.
The potion/scroll maker could need a VERY large assortment of items.
ie: 5 arulir skin, 10 idregh glands, 15 white wyrm claws, 25 inzthiel claws, and one X (make it extremely difficult to obtain X). That way you could have multiples, but it wouldn't be worth getting a stockpile.

ahhh... sorry i forgot to post my though about differences of potions and scrolls.
So IMO the major difference between potion and scrolls is; you cannot use scroll when you are in battle... you just not have the time to read some weird text while some monster is trying to eat you
