ChaosReaper
Ap: 4
Ac: -30%
Ad: 0-2
On target: 50% chance of Chaotic Grip x5 (3 rounds)

This thing cracks me up. Chaotic Grip x5 has a crazy effect on a targets stats.
Yes, I've managed to get a few while grinding for XP in the caves (keep in mind, I used 10 skill points on magic finder). Its kind of fun, except you have to see the monster's info to check if you gave them Chaotic Grip or not. Its nice to see the -5 DR and low BC on their stats

The stats in my signature are based on equipping the Dagger of the Shadow priests. If I switch that out for the Chaos Reaper, it becomes:
AP: 3
AC: 253%
AD: 36-41

The AC gets lowered a lot, and the AD is potentially less than the dagger (but also potentially the same). But if you give them Chaotic Grip, it lowers their DR and BC so its the same as boosting your own AC & AD. :D

Except that in order to give it to them you first have to hit them Wha waaaaa* (horn noise) Plus with your AD, how much stuff is really living beyond a hit?

IMO the Chaosreaper will be a very usefull weapon as the game gets harder. Against a strong damage resistant target it will really come into its own.

I got hit by a Chaos Beast for 42 HP - that hurt

The guys in the boring brown drabs get killed off right away, but the Chaos guys in the colorful robes (red, green, blue, purple) last long enough to get hit with Chaotic Grip which makes the final blow extra damaging. Their BC gets reduced to 25% so even though its not guaranteed that you'll hit them, its pretty close to it, and with -5 DR (they don't have any to start with), its a killing blow.

The Chaos Monsters (the round guys that drop the ChaR) are a bit more difficult. They have 9 DR, so even with Chaotic Grip they still have 4, but their BC is low to begin with so it ends up being negative (-5% I think). Which seems like it would guarantee that you hit them but there's that whole dice roll thing. And they have a higher HP too, so for them I switch back to the dagger, since they're more likely to give me chaotic grip.

It seems crazy to me that you need to waste time switching anything to fight these things. You are a higher level than me and I own their faces off...

I have all these different weapons in my arsenal so I just find it makes it a little more fun going through all the grinding to switch around once in a while.

I also go to the Shadow of the slayer when I'm getting low on health, or the quickstrike dagger, but I'm realizing I haven't used Flagstone's pride since getting the dagger of the shadow priests.

How do you not die all the time with that low of HP?
