Maybe set the landscape layout in other ordering?
I think it looks more antique with the title in center.
(The X stands for the crossed swords)

I'm not sure if this violates copyright or not. I took one corner from the photo of the real book, and made corners for our book:

it looks good, we can match the colors up a bit & it would look even better...
if it's in violation - it would be easy to do something from scratch.
no worries!

Only if you are a much better artist than I am
It looks better with the corners all the way to the spine, as with the real book:

I don't know if I like that one.
A bind is not something I would put.
The red leather looks good, but the graphic doesn't look very good on top. Doesn't match well, imo.
I like this font & color (how did you get hose scratches?):

What font is this??
Check this out, I made it myself. What do you guys think??

It looks like a scroll... a scroll image would take less memory than a book image.

@Voom getting those scratches was easy.

The spine is great. The corners are a little bit over the top IMHO. Maybe thinner ones. Don't forget the menu must fit in landscape mode too.
Moreover, the final compositing should be done in the code, as long as the layers are blended in normal mode (stacked on top of one another). Lighten, additive blending, color dodge and the likes should be precalculated.
This allows different scaling strategies for adapting to various resolutions: scale preserving ratio for the background, same for logo and title, stretch for the spine, 9-patch for the corners...
