Ring Collection Guide:
As you are at the entrance to the cave, enter. Proceed through killing off all enemies, leaving the alter room for last. Once you've cleaned out the alter room, remain there and kill off whatever respawns. This includes the corridor just south of this room. Behave as though you've entered this room for the 1st time by walking around the room, behind pillars, up to the alter, etc. Staying on the move seems to increase the respawn rate. You'll eventually get a feel for when it's time to move on, but you can always drop down to the room just south of the small corridor to check. When all of the viewable rooms are repopulated, repeat the killing process back to the exit of the cave, but don't leave. At this point the alter room has completely respawned, and it's up to you from here to decide how long to wait to return to the alter room to continue this cycle. Hopefully this will assistant players in acquiring a ring(s) sooner and maximize experience point collection.

for me is go in the cave kill all and get out the cave kill all plus the snake and then go in the cave by that time the trainers would have regenerated

Welcome to the club! As far as being added to a rankings list, I'm not aware that one exists. There are other forum topics where you can itemize your stats, inventory, etc., on a voluntary basis, but nothing that I'm aware of such as a leader board that is maintained by one, or a small group of individuals. Whatever you'd like others to know about your character, or feel is relevant, just include it in your signature.

Umm, yes there is a ranking list or leaderboard. I thought everyone on these boards was aware of it. its often the most frequented board. Its called highscores I believe or something similar.

Although I believe you were joking regarding your "refresh", I have considered offering an updated/revised guide. However, I feel that for the few who have commented on it, although it was positive, it would probably be time better spent not to. The strategy I outlined in that guide was the one I used, and still do, to get the results I have. It's been very successful for me, so I thought sharing it with others would help them. Apparently I was wrong as it only seems to work for me.

Please feel free to p.m. me regarding game topics you wish to discuss. The game's dynamics seem to change as you considerably progress. Some of them are as simple as how your block chance % increase that you just added upon leveling up seems to be having the opposite effect desired because now you're taking more hits & damage from the enemies you encounter. This seems normal and brief in duration. It's almost as if you were temporarily becoming adjusted to the difference one might feel wearing new armor for the first time. Like a breaking in period.

I appreciate what you did, thanks. This was just an opportunity for me to share my thoughts regarding a slightly revised version release. I just have mixed feelings about the whole topic. Some of them were frustration, but none of it was regarding you. The guide is like a recipe, you can alter the ingredients, but it's not going to taste the same. Although I could rant on endlessly, suffice it to say that respawn locations, groups, & numbers are tied to different timers. Changing the pattern of the guide changes the results you experience. For some players, pace is the main thing needed to modify. Too many that I read complaints from (even about the game in general) mostly lack patience in my opinion. I almost get the impression that all the requesters for "speeding up the respawn rate" would also like to have a pair of gatling guns to mow the respawned down quicker.

As of 6/7/11 @ 6:53 p.m., I have reached level 100. Much to my surprise, considering I had 21,249 small rocks in my inventory, I didn't pick up my 4th RoLS prior to this. I'm not complaining, but merely stating my surprise. Obviously this is a milestone of sorts for me, but I mostly share the experience for the sake of all the players who have seriously questioned playing on. Whether it be the accumulation of experience points, Rings of Lesser Shadow, or another reason entirely, I sincerely wish to encourage all to keep at it. Eventually it will come, as will the release of version 0.6.9 which contains some additional quest material, some new content, and as some of us are eager to see, a bonus stat for the RoLS itself. Much time is being spent to improve the overall game play experience (much of it based on feedback from players such as yourself). Many bug fixes and enhancements will also be included.

Don't give up. Enjoy Andor's Trail. Be patient with the game development, but mostly, please try to be patient with yourself. After all, usually no one is as hard on us as ourselves.
