Lol, thats because you yanks are far to reasonable when it comes to sports and dont let yourself get properly agressive, in fairness its not as violent anymore with the amount of old bill at games and the databases of known trouble causers, not like during the 80's kind of a shame but oh well, mind i still freakout if i walk into a pub filled with man u fans on matchday lol

So why do we take such a visceral interest in sports teams we don't own, work for, or play for?

Smithsonian has the answer.

I've always puzzled over the logic of claiming into some guy's sports team, just because it chooses to associate itself with a certain geographical area.

Well once upon a time football clubs at least in britain, and the smaller ones still are, would have deep conunity links qnd would recruit primerily among the local comunity, really helped with social cohesian and community spirit within a locality, now its a pissing contest really, yeah i say i support liverpool but i have pretty much nothing to do with the city, im from grimsby a small town on the other side of the country, but its not ver recognisable to say i support grimsby town fc or "the marriners" on an international forum is it. At the end of the day ill agree its pointless but it sure is good fun :p

Ok I can agree that is a sport. 8-) Not the game portion but the running from the angry mob and riot portion. Hooliganism Rules! I wish more American sports would do that :(

We only have to wait 4 years for the "Running Man" game show, but it will only last 18 months before Arnie breaks it.

Maybe since Arnie is retired maybe it could last a little bit longer than 18 months. I am totally good with that. As long as we are talking about the movie not the book. The book was actually kinda creepy.

Anyways... So I heard Baseball started......
