What a fun idea! Small details like this are one of the many things I love about this game.

In some places there are baskets where you can put as many items as you want. I use the one in the thieves guild prison as a trash bin for rotten meat, and the one in Vacor's hideout for items I really want to keep, but I am not using for now.

I sometimes drop the rotten meat in a corner of the cooked-meat guy's cabin, since he has such an attitude about vegetarian soup.

I'm not sure if it was already added in the last update but at least in Lowyna's village, the pig in the pond accepts the rotting meat.
