In fact, I don't even remember why they're even involved with that ring

Don't trust this dictionary too much. It is not wrong, but in a way you wouldn't expect.
Just believe me - I had created these quests around Guynmart after all. There is no mission to get a Ring of Lesser Shadow.

there is no quest to get the lesser shadow ring, is there a quest to get the shadow ring?
