IThey are no longer in operation (not connected to/by Verizon, so I don't know whether they can connect to wi-fi or not, and the game was "moved to the SD card" because every time I needed to update ANY apps, I had to uninstall one or two other apps to make room.
If these old phones had a SD card, and your new phone can read it, there's a chance it might be even easier to recover your saves.
Anyway, a smartphone is a lot like a normal computer. Your SIM card is just some kind of "proof of purchase" of your cellular plan. If there's no SIM card in your phone, you can still use it over wifi for internet, and stand-alone for apps that don't need internet.
If you can turn it on, there's a good chance to recover any data on it.

I'm really glad you like it. It did take a large amount of time and studying and trial-and-error. There are a few mistakes on it, that experienced artists will spot right away, but I'm pretty happy with the results.
The pixel art tutorials of Pedro Medeiros on patreon were insanely helpful, notably for the logo animation.

There. I added spoiler tags. Just use the Full Editor, click on the spoiler button, and type your sensitive content.
Nice effort warning people though
BTW, the Game Related Questions section is dedicated to this kind of questions.

I'm just saying that you should ask such questions there.
I'm not savvy enough about the content to give help. I'll let others chime in.

Oh ok. I thought you meant I'd find the answers I need already there. Never thought to ask. I'll go do that. Hopefully I'll get some help soon.
