They may be expensive "for the early game", but that doesn't mean they are not underpriced. We've been spoiled by being able to expect getting the JoF, perhaps the best single item in the game, before level 10, before even leaving the first two villages, just by slaughtering a bunch of snakes and puppies.

I kill lots and lots of puppies. I am the master puppy killer.....I am the king slayer of puppies. To be honest you can just raise the price of them to a degree that you need to grind even longer to get.....or maybe just maybe they are exactly where they need to be at exactly the right price.....could be you are so good at the game that it seems unfair for it to be accessible so early maybe for the casual player its just where it needs to be

I agree that moving them, and upgrading the low level armor to compensate, would be desirable, but we don't really have anywhere to move them to right now. We can't move them all to Remgard. There are other aspects of the game that also need rebalancing, but it won't happen for the next release. I've added this to my notes on the subject.
Yes you do make a good point Kashim. We are planning to rework the combat system, skills and items for v.0.8 anyway. Your thought will be taken into account then. :)

Just stumbled upon this and thought it'd be nice to bump it. Perhaps the wizard in Guynmart Castle can upgrade inferior rings to the best versions we currently have? Could make use of some rare components ready in game and not have them simply for sale like they are now. Also limiting them to one of each might balance things out, or require an Oegyth Crystal in the quest recipe (or Gem of Warmth?(Or both??))

Maybe do something clever with the new Thieves Guild update to upgrade to the polished ring of backstabbing or make it locked behind a quest there.

The wizard in Guynmart is either a con artist or incompetent, and can't upgrade anything.

We already added a better Ring of the Protector. Maybe we will add other very nice rings, but it's more likely that we will move the best ones to later in the game, and offer lesser ones early. The super good rings were added many years ago, and were early in the game because there was no later game. Things have changes a lot since then, so we may make adjustments (in fact probably will make adjustments).

He can upgrade one very important thing, but it's not easy to get.

It's not exactly an 'upgrade' though 😅

Yes. In fact, I think it's a significant downgrade and I don't understand why people think it's an upgrade.
