I know my idea isn't exactly what the description of the topic is about but the topic title gave me the idea.
To me a variable dungeon boss could be altered slightly so that the change to it could be dependant on certain factors like a piece of equipment you have in your inventory or quest you have/have not completed. Would be neat if you come in with a specific build and the boss can identify that and spawn the version effective against it.
