Extremely easy to do indeed.
However, no NPC required on key areas. If you want a NPC, you can already have him vanish with a level requirement in the v0.7.0 dialogue system.
As for what he says, what about :

That might mean adding hidden caves and a small room, which could be fun for map devs or the storyline writers.

Maybe just have them as rare or extraordinary items would be best. The first 20 or so levels should he tough in any RPG, what with the lack of skills and decent kit. Nothing too extreme like my Badger Set idea, but something better than most shop kit in line with the GoLF.

How about an endless cave were rumors and storys say that a long time ago 3very strong adventures entered in hope that the gods would take there strength and combined it together and make epic gear. Only those that are worthy of this gear my receive it.

That would be a great idea, but something that'd take time to implement. If there was a Scroll of Return type item, you'll be able to grind that cave until the cows come home.

But maybe this idea deserves a totally new thread?

This is indeed a great idea. There is another RPG-like game for Android out there, called "Galaxy Hero", and it provides an endless coliseum/arena mode, which is similar to this idea. In this arena you can gain access to ever more powerful shields for your battle ship. Why not create something similar for AT; endless caves?! Maybe even one cave per type of equipment: weapon, harness, ring, etc.

However, I think this is not exactly in line with the concept and appeal of AT as it lacks the element of discovery. But if you evenly disperse those caves, it might turn out just right. Or what, if these caves are actually not endless, but offer only three items and you'd have to find the next cave with another three items before to find more powerful gear and so on?

In any case, I think this discussion is extremely fruitful and provides loads of great ideas for the future development of this amazing game. Just mind, that a part of the core of this idea is to provide high level players with a mission until the next major update and hence must only ask for minor coding requirements. The intention of my original idea was to keep players busy (i.e. not bored!!!) until the next real, that is story continuing update.

So just wondering which monsters we are talking about here to drop the RogS, atm I am slaughtering the imps for that super sword (I forget the name but heard it's suuuuper rare and only the imps below bw mountain have it)
