ok first suggestion slowly start trading candy for dried fruit until neither are need. don't do this to fast as after eating sweets for a longtime the body becomes dependant on sugar rushes at certain times of the day. This will lead to any diet falling. Up your water intake 3litres minimum for weightloss. you have to sweat to lose weight. to sweat you need more fluids.
walking and biking are excellent for weightloss gradually increase the intensity over the week. eg 10mins hard peddling day 1. 15mins day 2

low carbs high protein
white rice is good cut out bread as much as possible
15% carbs 80% protein and 5% fats is a typical weightloss diet

I drink at least a gallon of water when I work... then again I live I the desert. I think my better half's needs to keep in mind people's different location and weather climate

a female like myself trying to drop bodyfat has to consume a minimum of 2litres of water a day

Its not climate based when its on how much your sweating like msp said to lose fat you have to sweat and you need added fluids to do this

Yes Sorrow you would loose weight, but you'd not survive long on water alone (You wouldn't last any longer than 74 days actually give or take a few depending on body type and amount of energy being burnt.)
Always remember the rule of 3: (you won't survive w/o:)
Air = 3 minutes
Food = 3 Days
water = 3 weeks
No shelter in the snow = 3 hours
Also: This isn't a good idea either way because once you started to introduce your body to food again it would absorb the food faster (holding more of the nutrients you might not necessarily want to have) Most likely you would in the end gain more weight than you lost.
msp : great idea ! I treat my body as a mere support system for my brain, but my wife has a few questions.
We're working on making our first child, and she's looking for exercises to make her body more fit for pregnacy. We're both "good eaters" with a natural warming layer with close to no regular sports practice. What would you advice ?
for starters I never would suggest to anyone that a water only diet is the best way to lose weight.. water helps with stripping excess weight along with a proper ratios of food intake and vigorous exercise..
Zukero: a lot of women preparing there body for pregnancy will take up pilates and yoga as they help strengthen and develop the pelvic muscles as well as overall muscle tone. pilates and yoga can also be carried out well into the late trimesters of pregnancy

Yes you guys are correct i got the water and food mixed up. And yes those numbers will vary from one person to the next depending on their body fat levels and metabolism.
