My inserting is that oak and other hardwoods were the good stuff. Iron bands improved them. Commoners might have been stuck with pine, which didn't protect as well.PK17 wrote:Just checked the gear list, no items have any detail of what wood they are made out of.
There are quite a few animals/Beasts in A.T. that would probably have skin thick enough to make a decent armor out of. I have played a lot of AT and have not once had to grind cows. So the leather clearly comes from the Arulir, or possibly the Maonit trolls.
