This is a shocker to me. Based off of your articulate writing I was imagining a 40 something year old professional.
I like how (work) is in parentheses

Heh, you still are (he says from the vantage point of 10 years older).

As a BMS engineer I spend a lot of time on tasks that only require interittant concentration, AT is ideal as I can do some work, play AT while I wait to see the results, do some more, play more AT, monitor work more etc.

(BMS-Building Management systems, i program intelligent controls systems that operate building heating, ventilation air conditioning (HVAC) and lighting systems. HVAC sytems have long lag between making adjustments and seeing a change occur).

well i'm a videogame pianist so cant really pick a character around that. closest thing is bard but i never like bard jobs on rpgs (except for bards tale lol). I do like dnc on ffxi though funnily enough

personally i always go for melee on rpgs. with this game its always gonna be about AD AC AP Crit at the expense of defensive stats if necessary

Age doesn't say much... people who see me think I am 25 (I was in the USA a couple of months ago having dinner with my dad, stepmom and gf, asking me for ID ordering a wine, I am 32 lolz). I thought PK17 to be older as well, nice to see people developing themselves early on.

Great thread! I think my playstyle reflects a lot how I perceive things. In work, I have been doing a lot of different things. They have in common that I use my analytical and communicative skills to solve bottlenecks. Problems in ERP systems nobody can solve, complex projects that are too risky to others, creating information out of data dumps that nobody manages and currently helping companies innovate, because they seem stuck after geting great ideas (an idea is just the start, as most of you do probably agree). In playing AT, I find the most effective way to level up, making use of all skills that support me as the best helping hand. So I have a mix of regen, corpse eater, IF (don't have to level up HP but harder at low levels), AC, AD and crit comes from choosing eq carefully. Since I do not like specialization, I am in most ways trained generally, except where being maxed out (in RL, being among the top) pays off. Maxed IF, maxed BS, effective grinding while gaining good xp per time unit, those things.

What is not reflected in AT is the challenge and difficulty I love in my work, AT is only difficult if you make it difficult yourself. My job is to find the essence of problems and solve it as efficient and in collaboration with people, in AT this is quite easy (the game) and impossible (offline game). The forum is a great thing though.

This is really a great thread. When I was stuck in what I wanted in life, I used to play MUME (a Multiple User Dungeon or MUD) a lot. I played trolls only, big strong characters who had realdeath if you came in rooms with sun (during day). Huge challenge to play, but also a character that did counter how I felt about life back then. I loved leading groups, creating new ways to play trolls (everybody played them as suiciders) and socializing through the game. Not really what I did during those years in work (study actualky).

Hey everyone.

In game I'm trying to.b the perfectionist. Try to keep my att and RA up along with HP. I guess my stats go with what I do for a living. As of now I'm a handyman were perfection is in the eye of who ever I'm working for cuz in the end they have to like what I have done. But the job gives me more time to play then any other jobs out there... for now tho lol
