That would require a lot of changes because we would need a code for ranged attacks, some different combat animations. And we would need to balance the system because strong characters could kill monsters with e.g. 4 ranged attacks but the monster hasn't already reached you.
Anyway, I would love it to see ranged weapons in the game, but it's a lot of effort.

Yes I know this one is hard

but still ... I love to see it in game especially if monsters will charge in future....
I see three ranged weapon types:
-sling, uses rocks. Rocks are free, but damage and accuracy are poor AC-50%, Damage is 25% of your bace
-throwing weapons, one time use weapons. Expencive but can done some real damage AC -25, Damage is 50% of your bace + weapons damage
-Bows, Expencive and needs arrows. When you grow stronger you can use heavier bow, something like bace damage 10 you can use bow whitch gives damage 3, with bace damage 20 you can use bow with damage 6, etc. And there are differend arrows; cheap ones AC-30, normal arrows AC 0, rare arrows AC +30, etc
