Zukero wrote:Hi guys.
I had a long trip on the road today, and while grinding for the GoW (my wife was driving), I had an idea for a quest, and started writing it on my phone's notepad.
Now, hours later, and having gained 5 levels in the "Touch keyboard efficency" skill, it is finally complete.
So, I have a 11KB txt file, with quest description, full dialogues, 7 new items (2 weapons, 2 animal parts, one potion, 2 quest items), enemy description, one actor condition, one new quest-related skill, moral choices (three paths possible), additions to the dialogues of an existing NPC, vague descriptions of the new places, with little to no effect on the main story.
I have no assets to provide (I certainly can't create them right), but this quests requires 2 to 5 maps (no new tiles needed I think, # of maps depending on dungeon depth), 6 enemies (three of which should be color-mapped version of each other), and the seven items.
One actor condition requires a feature I have not yet seen in the game, but should not be too hard to implement
The numbers used to describe the enemies are mostly here as a guidline, I don't have the experience for balancing these, but I think they should be about right for some player about to go grind for the RoLS (in terms of level).
This quest was inspired by the great record from Les Claypool : Of Fungi and Foe.
Question is, where do I post this file without spoiling it all for the mere mortals ?

but not enough writers to bring a good idea "far enough" to get put into the game...
if anyone is interested in writing up some of these great ideas,
apply for Dev Access & you will see a new Developer's Corner...
(yes, everyone can see it at the moment - but not for long)
this will be the best place to post Full Quest - or to discuss how to get to that end.
there are a few different acceptable formats, just ask...
or take a look and mimic what you see!
I thought of perhaps finding existing quest ideas and finishing them in detail, where should I startZukero wrote: Tue Jan 09, 2018 3:51 pm Creating in ATCS is best of course, but a detailed write-up makes implementation in ATCS much easier, so anything you can come up with is good.
There's no small contribution.
Do I apply here, if yes then I am applying, but If no then where do I apply?Zukero wrote: Wed Jan 10, 2018 3:25 pm Wherever you want to.
I'd say that if you want to go further than simply dialogues, you should get familiar with the game contents data model: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=5825
It is formal and detailed, but it is your second best choice to know what is possible to do behind using ATCS.
You should also apply for membership to the "Developers" group to be able to post in the "Content corner" section of the forums. There you'll certainly find a bunch of advanced yet unfinished content ideas that you could pick up.
