My 2 cents is that the off-hand weapon should have a large nerf to BC because of using another weapon instead of a shield. And a smaller nerf to the AC/AD of the weapon.
I haven't noticed anyone talk about how AP would work with dual wielding weapons. Would each weapon have it's own hit or would they be combined into one?

As the current system stands with only 1 type of attack, there would need to still be 2 attacks implemented, one for each hand to subtract from the total number of Action Points available.
My character currently has Flagstone's Pride equipped, which has an AP cost of 4, and the Stone Cuirass which has an additional AP cost of 2, totaling 6 AP needed for 1 attack. However, I only have 10 available AP, - FP & SC leaving me 4 Action Points left...if I were able to equip another weapon to have another hit with it should cost 4 or less AP.
Each time the round came to me I would select from either a (L) or (R) attack first, then the other with whatever +/- would come from using 2 weapons...
But then there is discussion of combat Abilities and Attack Styles...ultimately they all 3 could work together, but some serious hashing out would need to take place for things to intertwine appropriately.

The off-hand should certainly not be able to attack 3 times with swords having a Attack Cost of 4.
My suggestion:
The attacks alternate between the left and the right hand.
Off-hand: 6 AP=with the jewel of fallhaven, you can attack 2 times. You should only be able to equip light weapons.
-30 BC, -10AC
Main hand:10-12 AP, depending on your skills. You are also able to equip heavy weapons but no weapons with an Attack Cost over 7.
-15BC, -5AC
So in total, you would have 16-18 AP.
What do you think about my suggestion?

16-18 Action Points would be slight overkill.
Off-hand - if that uses 6 AP, then you should be able to choose to hit with this first and second, but only if you have a total of 12 AP...however, you shouldn't get the option to have 2 attacks with one hand, and still use another weapon (I hope I am following what you are saying) that is going to use additional AP.
I looked at the source a couple of days ago and it is not difficult at all to just start off with more AP, however, for it to logically work with the current system starting off with 10 should be enough.
If something is considered a heavy weapon it should definitely be 2-handed

yeah, i could see a barbarian dual wielding GIANT AXES...
but not our hero, he is just a boy.
my initial thoughts...
Main Hand: Medium 5ap & lower
Off Hand: Light 4ap & lower
this maintains better balance,
unless the user is fully ambidextrous (very rare)
and i could see a slight drop in bc, but not that much...
because in some situations you can parry with your off-hand weapon (or both weapons)

I think if the weapon costs >=6 AP it should be automatically a 2-handed weapon. Either hand should be able to equip a 5 AP cost weapon, however give an additional +1 AP cost to the second hand, as well as -10% Attack Chance, -(1-3 )Attack Damage, and + 3% to Block Chance.
This would keep people from using this right out of the gate, until they use a skill point and up their total base Action Points.

so far, that's how it is in one of the Dev builds [v0.7.0]... IIRC.
+1!

Because the hero is no viking. He is just a kid. How many 12 year olds can swing a giant axe? Never mind 2 at once.
Plus, like Nyktos hinted at, for competitive balance.

Well, I'm sure there aren't a lot of 12 year old kids who live in an age of magic and savagery and kill wild boars and undead for breakfast... but point taken. I was just thinking it would be so great to have a pure destructive build with two gutspllitters, or maybe skullcrushers... The apocalypse given form...

Ah well, I guess the dream was nice while it lasted

Nothing is to say that the idea doesn't work, it just does not work right now with the way it is layed out for what is probably going to be in one of the next releases.
Maybe being able to dual wield 2 heavy weapons could be an advanced skill that would take some modification to work out? There are several ways that can probably be suggested to fit with everything
