I love this idea of quest and getting rid out of the "misery" and IMO those Jewel of Blackwater is powerfull even without the -1AP. It is easy to make new content.. the hard part is the balancing game

The quest for the blackwater Jewel can be implented further down the line when the game starts to get harder the player, I agree it shouldn't be obtained at an early stage !

Maybe not completely remove the misery effects but cut it by half or something.

If you cut it in half it would virtually have the same stats as defenders blade(ap=5 ac=26% ad=3-7 bc=3%)and its not even a rare item so IMO it wouldn't be worth it

i think he meant that the effects of Misery would be reduced by half,
not the stats of the gear...
at least that's how i read it.

Blackwater misery is -1Ap -50% AC and -50 chs on the sword I think so if you halved it you would only get 25% AC which is less than defenders blades 26% AC and the blackwater sword doesn't have CHS I think so the - 50 CHS wouldn't take affect, correct me if I'm wrong

the dagger already has 3AP attack cost, and a ludicrous 45% AC; that's 4 attacks with the AP skills or a potion. you lose the ability to wear the JoF, so basically it's either
Flagstone's Pride AP3 (with JoF), 21%AC , 10 crit x2, 1-6 dmg.
Blackwater poison dagger AP3, 45% AC, no base crit, 1 dmg, POISON (not very useful imho, at least now)
these two would be balanced enough; they are both powerful, hard to get (you have to side with BWM city and lose access to speed pots), and you can't use the 2 DR jewel item with either;

Attacks at 2 AP are just game-breaking; 7 attacks per round says what ?
