to a certain extent - oskar agrees, and brought up the idea of an extra app for Andor's Trail players...
Second app would good idea, they who want its can download it.

Somebody will edit save files, its just matter of time.
yeah, people can already alter the [open] source code & play their own altered versions...
there is a link to the code page in game - so it's not a secret, this would just make it easier.
i think Scott was worried about altering submissions to something akin to the Highscore thread,
and Oskar was more or less expressing his thoughts on moral / legal issues with the game itself.
we didn't touch on it at much length,
so these were just my fleeting impressions of their statements at the time.
at any rate, i would download it!
just for more ways to bask in the glory of that which is
Andor's Trail!!!
[back to work]
CAN'T WAIT FOR THE ALPHA!!!
[not much longer guys!]

I do know this, it was requirement (be a free software) when I did look game for android.
I'm just worried if there going to be highscore (elsewhere as the highscore thread, in that second app?), there are going to be a lot hacking the save files.

I like the idea of statistics! But I dont like something like achievements, solving quests and getting somewhere with the storry should whats the game about and not reaching Level 100 without doing any Quests but getting a goldstar for killing 100k of shadow gargoyle trainers. That sounds like farmville to me... So the implementation of bare statistics in the normal game and all the rest in an extra app is what I favour.

I disagree on this, becauce current higscore systems (just add whatever your like to your signature) is working well. And if in future there are suddedly new player with too high score in the highscore board the older members of this forum will shoot him down
And important thig to remember is; there are no benefit for high position on highscore board ! There are only personal feelings of victory when you beat someone after hard grinding and raised on the highscore board.
And the most important thing ! People I have meet and the athmosphere of this forum is the reason why i keep on playing.
You are gold
with best regards
Sarumar
-----Edited and ad new idea:
And some another idea for the museum. How about somewhere are npc who gives you guest like; can you please bring me 9 different amulets, can you give me xx extraordinary items, i need 9 (or 10) different samples of monster around the world. After you have delivered items they appears to the museum.

If there are going to be achievements then I would suggest following:
MASTER OF LESSER SHADOWS: Obtained 5 RoLS
ELYTHARAN CHAMPION: Obtained 5 ElyR

A second app would be good, and as far as hacking save files goes, give oskar some credit... Yes, someone could jack their exp up with a hex edit, but also remember how much information your save file holds... It really wouldn't be too hard to have a highscore app that parses the monsters you've killed and the quests you've completed to calculate a range of possible exp for the character and compare that to the actual exp of the character... It would still be*possible*to cheat such a system, but very difficult, as you'd have to calculate exp per monster and adjust kill counts to match exp value... I really need to learn java, I have an old encryption algorithm somewhere that would make cheating even more difficult, but would have to test and see if it caused lag... Shouldn't, but never know, I.e the quickslot problem with 0.6.10

I like this idea, but I think it should be decorational instead of functional. That means it should be like a badge to prove that you have solved an otherwise useless task. But it should not make any other difference, like improving stats etc.
This would add to the game and the player's motivation. Right now leveling up, solving quests and collecting items are the main tasks. Achievements would provide a different set of goals for the player. They could fill a gap if a player needs to grind in order to become powerful enough to tackle the next quest. You need two more levels? Why not get another level of the snake achievement? It is always a good idea to offer parallel tasks that keep a player entertained when he gets stuck on one path.
I think one great source of inspiration for this could be Red Dead Redemption. The achievements of that game are designed in way that you can master them in parallel to the main story. When the game takes you to Mexico, you have to collect Mexican herbs, hunting achievements require you to keep your eyes open while traveling the world etc. In order to get the achievements players should complete 100% of a certain game dimension: kill at least one monster of each kind, visit each map of the game at least once, trade with every merchant there is, talk to all possible people, sell every kind of loot...
My suggestions: achievements require the player to go the extra mile, to kill some monsters that are usually left alive because they positioned off the beaten track. The Oegyth Crystals are a great idea also. Items like that could be a monitor to show people how far they have come until now.

I don't see your point. L&E equipment already is some kind of achievement. They should establish new goals and motivate new kinds of behavior IMHO.
