winter can be a depressing time for people,
be it the dreary weather or ghosts from our past...
even financial strain as we attempt to be everything to all.
whatever the reason, it can be as harsh as standing barefoot in the snow.
i would like to thank you, Pyrizzle for your ongoing positive attitude.
and for this thread - even as negativity still found its way to seep in...
it is still shows how far a smile can go / even a digital one.
these months can be difficult ones, and its nice to see genuine effort...
expecting nothing in return but a simple smile back.
we get so wrapped up i our own drama, we forget how much we effect others.
good or bad.
im glad i stumbled across this game, this forum... and you guys.
i am the last person to be festive or joyus this time of year,
but you reminded me, even if its just a little bit... of the things that matter.
i wish you all the best this winter, and if its a painful one...
just know that you arent alone, and spring is just around the corner.
take care everyone, and be safe.

Wow! Very eloquent and beautiful. Negativity cured! Totally agree, sir.

one of the things i admire about Christians, is that they have made their most important holidays accessible to those of us who don't share their faith, by promoting a strictly secular option.
in other words, if you don't think Christmas is a day to celebrate the birth of their Messiah, they say, "fine! here's a fat guy in a red suit, bearing gifts! come and celebrate, and be happy and goodnatured with us anyway!".
ditto, the Easter bunny.
so, i wish my Christian friends a "merry Christmas", when i greet them, and use "happy holidays", for those i know are not Christians. with strangers, i let them use whatever phrase they prefer, first, and then i respond in kind. it certainly does me no harm to wish somebody of a different faith happiness while he/she celebrates an important holiday of his/her own faith.
no matter what faith you adhere to, there is no reason to be divisive with people who are trying to show you good will.

To all those on the forum, of whatever faith: May you have a happy interlude in your year as the solstice reminds us all that light and warmth and better weather are in the process of returning, (at least in the Northern Hemisphere.) Many of the celebrations occurring now trace the roots of their timing back to that fact of the meteorological year. So even if you do not have a faith-based holiday to celebrate this December, try to keep the hope of better times alive in your heart.
There have been several excellent posts made to this thread, whose sentiments I include by reference. Happy Holidays to all.

Happy New Year!
As much as I've enjoyed spending more time with friends and family over the holidays, its really cut into my Andor time...

Happy New Year to all.
I had the same problem, Mino. I stayed at my sister's two extra days waiting for better driving weather, and she did not like it when I played instead of doing some joint activity. I got in very little playing time for a whole week. Serious AT withdrawal!

Happy Groundhog Day!
If you're in the US and have cable, one of the channels usually shows the movie all day...
