it looks like i need to sync with a PC... am i reading that right???
if so, i am going to be stuck until i can get to one.

Yup you have to get a pc for installing some roms and also rooting ....

what happened?

i had it rooted successfully, then used a terminal emulator to put CM7 on my cell...
i was in the recovery screen - after wiping the data & cache... ready to load the ROM & reboot.

[bear with me - i had a lot of things going at the same time (not just hacking) so...]

i either moved the ROM to the wrong folder, or downloaded (but never unzipped) the ROM
or i unzipped it & left it sitting there?

(really, i have no clue why it wasn't there)

but i had a blank phone, looking for a cyanogen mod that wasn't there (on my SD card - unzipped / extracted from my PC)
and i dont think there is a way to get back to a point where i can move files around to where they need to be.

i was on the VERY LAST STEP and...

File Not Found.
Reboot?

[rinse, repeat]

the file is not there so i reboot to see where that takes me...
and i sit there staring at my phones manufacturers logo endlessly

- ...heh.

- ...uhhh.

can you boot into recovery again? then you can move files in revovery through an option...!!
