I also put 10 into magic finder (after countless hours trying for the RoLS during v0.6.8 - not that I couldn't have counted, I was just too lazy), and so far I've got 2 of the ChaR in 2 days, but those are extraordinary and have a slightly better drop rate than the legendary items. Still, that made it worth using those skill points in my book.
I had 16 total when this update was released to market (I was furiously grinding XP out of the wyrms and their trainers so I could have more skill points), and here is what I used:
2 for Combat Speed (raised max AP to 12 - imo the best skill and most powerful skill in the long run)
1 for More Criticals
1 for Better Criticals
1 for Strong Mind -seems like I'd need more to better resist that Chaotic grip though...
1 for Enduring Body - but I haven't been back to BWM to see how much it helps prevent fatigue yet
10 for magic finder - I could have gone with 12 here, but I decided to go with a round number and use the other 2 for the resistance skills
I don't plan on using skills for things I can get through regular level ups like AC, AD or BC, but I plan to use the skills that would compliment those. I generally level up the same thing 5 times in a row.
So leveling up from 65 to 70, I plan to increase AC, and when I get another skill point I plan to increase More Criticals again (since having a high CC% isn't worth much if you're not hitting them to begin with).
Then I plan to increase AD leveling up from 70 to 75 and increase Better Criticals when I get the skill point.
75-80 I will level up BC and either increase Bark Skin or Strong Mind (depending on how annoying that chaotic grip gets)
80-85 will go towards increasing HP and I'll use the skill for Corpse Eater.
Edit (10/26/11): After some helpful advice from another player, I think I will instead put my next skill point into Increased Fortitude, and the next 4 after that into Quick Learner (for an extra 20% XP from every monster) since these level ups are only going to take longer as I keep playing.
Edit 2 (10/27/11): after getting impatient with the time it takes to level up, I used my recently gained skill point for Quick Learner, and plan to use the next 2 for that as well. When I get my skill point for hitting level 80, I'll use that one for Increased Fortitude so that I'll still add 20 to my max HP as I level up to 100. After the I plan to leave the Iqhan caves and go back to the Gargoyle caves for a RoLS so I won't be leveling up as quickly.
Hopefully I don't seem to obsessive for having planned out that far ahead...
